  • Jiayin Hall - Jiayin Hall was built in 1922, it is known for its collection of more than 100 well-preserved wood carvings of classical Chinese figurines. There are 49 bridges in Tongli, three of which have become the cultural symbols of the town. Named Taiping (peace), Jili (luck) and Changqing (celebration), locals walk over the three bridges to wish peace, fortune, happiness and health for their family and friends. Originating from the Song Dynasty, Tongli Water Village is a historical jewel dating back over a millennium with a rich cultural lineage. One can witness the intricate traditional craftsmanship of the region at Jiayin Hall. Constructed in 1922, the hall is popular for housing a diverse array of over 100 beautifully conserved wooden sculptures portraying classic Chinese characters. Among the 49 bridges in Tongli, three have gained fame as cultural icons of the town. They are named Taiping, for peace, Jili, signifying luck, and Changqing, representing celebration. Residents cross these bridges as a tribute to peace, prosperity, joy and well-being for their near and dear ones. Tongli also boasts of numerous conventional gardens; the Tuisi Garden being a quintessential example of a Chinese garden built between 1885 and 1887. You can explore the pavilions, terraces, halls, rockeries and ponds and soak up the garden’s tranquil ambience. The tour might also include a visit to the traditional silk factory afterwards.
