Ice cellars - Superb experience with a guide at the top! The children loved the experience of visiting ice caves for more than successful photos. The additional explanations about the Jokulsaron area during the transfer were really interesting.

Disappointed.. ☹️ - I recently went on an ice cave tour with Arctic Adventures earlier this month and while it was an interesting experience, the tour didn’t meet my expectations. First of all, the cave we visited was not the same as advertised on the website. I understand the original blue ice cave collapsed in August 2024, but there was no prior notice about the change in location. The alternative cave was much less impressive, with most of the areas lit by electric lights instead of the natural blue glow we were hoping for. Additionally, the tour was supposed to be three hours as advertised on their website, but we only spent two hours in total, which included the round-trip car ride to the glacier. The tour itself felt rushed, and there wasn’t enough time to properly enjoy the cave or take photos, especially since my friends and I were traveling in a group of three. So to conclude, the overall tour didn't match the expectations set by the website, and I left feeling disappointed. Given the false advertising and rushed nature of the tour, I wouldn't consider doing it again.

Don't use artic adventure - Dangerous drivers on the mini buses passing cars in Dangerous condition. We ignored this and despite this booked ice cave with them.. had 4 x 4 and drove all the way from Reykjavik, condition turned road closed by authorities despite fact we could have driven the road as we had 4 x4 . Contacted company and they didn't care..refused to give refund. Don't use them..waste of time and awful customer service.. Don't bother answering me with your generic email response

Awful customer service - Do not use this company. Awful customer service care. A party of 9 of us set off on a five-hour journey, 3 hours in despite our best efforts we were turned back door to the extreme weather conditions. We contacted customer services and advised them but were told the weather is unpredictable and that we weren't able to get a refund! We were told we skulls have stayed closer to where the adventure was! The cost implications of booking accommodation for 9 people for one night when we had already paid for an apartment would've been astronomical and not feasible. Our party lead was advised to email the company on our return to find a solution which he did. Only to be patronised in the response from the company. Whilst we appreciate that the weather is unpredictable the company should have provided at least a partial refund. We had all saved for this trip of a lifetime and to lose hard-earned money in this way is devastating. A very poor show indeed. Terrible!

Inconsiderate treatment from the company - A group of us, 9 in total, had booked a visit. We started from Reykjavik in clear weather with no snow or ice. As we progressed the weather deteriorated and after some 2 hours we hit a blizzard with zero visibility and were turned back by the authorities as the road was blocked. It was impossible for us to continue and positively dangerous. When we contacted the company we were told that they were not responsible for the weather, which is stating the obvious, and they would not return our payment which was the best part of a £1000. They did not offer us an alternative date either. Considering that this was Iceland in January, such conditions are not unusual and I would have thought that basic good will and consideration would have been the least that we could have expected. This is a poor reflection on the venue and on Icelandic tourism. I would advise anyone to treat this company with caution as their policy is to fleece any potential customer. As a matter of principle I intend to contact the relevant Icelandic tourism authority.

No refunds. - We were on the way there, but a snow storm hit, and we were turned around due to the harsh conditions, and when we phoned in to try get a refund, they didn't allow it. Not even a segment of the money we paid to do the ice caves was returned. They said that they don't control the weather but neither do we. And there were a fair few of us going so we've lost out on a lot of money. We didn't even have the option to continue driving as people were blocking the road ahead and directing us to turn around.

Awful - Incredibly disappointed, our first trip to Iceland and booked to visit to Crystal caves for today.....the weather turned bad after travelling 3 hours and we were turned back by the authorities as the road was closed due to the weather. We contacted the company, who advised us that this was out of their control and we weren't entitled to a refund. As the weather is so unpredictable in Iceland, we also could not predict the adverse weather conditions and therefore the weather was also out of our control and could not travel on a closed road. The company refused to refund us and advised us that we wohave to go through our insurance company to reclaim the money.

poor customer service - We had booked a visit and paid in advance, having travelled from UK. Due to a blizzard causing the road to be closed by the authorities we could not get to the venue. Upon informing the company and asking for a rebate or credit we were told that they were not responsible for the weather. Bearing in mind that this is Iceland in January, I think this attitude is appalling. I would not recommend this company to anyone in view of their total lack of sympathy and consideration for circumstances. Customer care is nonexistent.

Disappointed - Unable to attend due to road closure and severe weather. Company not helpful on the phone, no refund as less than 24 hours when road closed, stated vehicles and guides had already been arranged for us, understandable, but then told us that other people had booked on tour and would be able to get there as not needing to use the route we required. Tour obviously still going ahead and still would not refund even part of our payment. A lot of money as 9 of us booked. Do not go through this company.
