Vikings, Elves and Trolls! - We had an amazing day exploring southeastern Iceland with our guide, Jon Gardar Bjarnason. Jon was a knowledgeable and personable guide who has a terrific sense of humor. With his guidance, we walked away understanding the cultural and the lifestyle of the Icelandic people better. We visited the town of Hofn, and after experiencing a personal touch tour, we visited the scenic point overlooking the glaciers and finished our visit to Hofn with the best latte at Olis. We then went on to visit Diamond Beach and the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. The word “breathtaking” comes to mind. Jon pointed out significant elements of each area while encouraging individual and group photographs. He is an “outstanding” photographer. From there, we traveled on to Skutafoss Waterfall. Once again, without Jon’s guidance, we would not have experienced the best of the waterfalls. Along the way, we saw stone images of trolls, heard about elves, saw flocks of swans, and learned a lot about the Viking culture. Truly a memorable day! Thank you Jon!

Great Day Trip from Djupivogur - We spent the day traveling from Djupivogur to the glacial lagoon and diamond beach. We had a couple of additional stops for views and Skutafoss waterfall. The small coach was comfortable and our driver was both knowledgeable and accommodating to the entire group's needs. We highly recommend this tour and tour operator.

Tour guide Einar was... - Tour guide Einar was great. The tour to glacier lagoon and diamond beach and waterfall was a long drive but worth it! However, we were a group of 6 adults and they added two more adults at last minute. The van was packed tightly and not that comfortable and the people in the back row could not hear the guide. I would recommend this tour if they give you a large enough vehicle so you can hear the commentary and be comfortable on a very long round trip drive.

Amazing tour! - Iceland Highlights customer service did an amazing job to adjust our departure time following our needs(we reached Djupivogur port with cruise ship). Same did our super nice driver/tour guide John who finally gave us time to do more than what we expected and told us lots of stories and history of Iceland. We had an amazing tour ! I really recommend it

Unforgettable Glacier lagoon tour from Djupivogur. - We took this trip during a cruise over Iceland. The guide picked us up at Djupivogur port. The drive to the glacier in a van was quite comfortable. Gunnar, our guide is a real enthusiast fascinated by glaciers. He shared interesting stories and lots of local insights. Visiting the glacier gives a fantastic impression. Even if you do not have much time, seeing a glacier is a must-do in this area. Make sure you dress warmly. It was +20 when we left Djupivogur, but at the glacier it was windy and freezing cold. We took several other stops to see the ‘diamond beach’ and waterfalls. The entire drive and every stop offered stunning views of Icelandic nature.

Worked out well in the end - We had difficulty connecting with the tour at the port in Djupivogur. The port is quite small so this shouldn’t have happened. However - the tour itself was good. It’s over 2 hours drive from Djupivogur to the ice lagoon and beach, but worth it. We also stopped at Skudafoss waterfall but there has been little rain for the last couple of weeks so the flow of water was very low. We were blessed with a nice day with some sunshine and light wind, so great visibility after the morning fog lifted. A good time overall.

You need a good guide to make this not boring - To be fair the weather was bad. But 2h each way in a van and the guide had no audio system and a very low voice. He said he would answer questions but not talk. We didn't know enough to ask the right questions. Definitely the least enjoyable (and most expensive) of our Iceland shore excursions. There's not much on offer from this port but I would recommend finding another way to the glacier lagoon.

Tour was cancelled one... - Tour was cancelled one day prior, with no explanation provided as to why. To be fair, the operator did provide a refund and offered alternate tour possibilities, which unfortunately we were unable to take advantage of. A big disappointment, nonetheless.
