You don’t want to miss this!! - Wow!!! What an amazing experience! Our family (including two kids in college) loved it and Lucas, our guide. He built our trust super fast such that we followed his lead and did new things way out of comfort zones. He is very knowledgeable, taught us so much about glaciers and this area. He always kept us safe and did a fabulous job of reading our abilities and comfort level to create a personalized experience. We came to learn he is an industrial engineer by education. He applied his intellect and skills so perfectly to being meticulous in caring for our family’s safety while creating such a memorable time for us. This experience will be the one we all talk about the most from our 9 days in Iceland. It is worth the money if you want adventure!! we will telling all our friends about Lucas and Glacier Encounters. You won’t regret it!!

Magnificent Glacier - A great experience to walk on a glacier! Our guides Sam and Asta could not have been more accommodating. There was a bit of a hike “up” to the glacier which may not be for everyone. But the glacier was magnificent.

Fun and beautiful experience - Our guide Barbara was energetic and fun, giving lots of information about the area and glacier. She gave clear instructions during the hike and lead us to some beautiful view points to take pictures. I enjoyed the trip a lot and would definitely recommend it to those who haven't hiked up a glacier before.

Amazing experience! - We went in July with a small group and had the best time. Our guide, Alex, was extremely friendly and also an actual glacier expert :) The hike (glacier encounter) was approx 2h long (with breaks for pictures and a lot of much appreciated fun facts about the glacier by Alex), it was not too hard but still a nice challenge for us. Totally worth it!

Absolute must do - We booked this trip online. We met the guide at a service station which has a resturant. The guide measured us for crampons. We then headed in a bus to the glacier. We hiked for about 10 minutes and then were given instructions on how to wear the crampons and walk on the ice.. we then walked on the ice. It was a fun experience. I was nervous but so glad I went. It was not difficult and it was a lot of fun. Guide told a lot of stories.

Great experience and great guides! - Great tour, starting with a short 4x4 bus tour, in a luxury bus. Then we did a short climb and after that it was time to put on the crampons under our shoes, which was very well explained by our guide Flo. Flo is a nice mixture of seriousness and fun, he made our tour unforgettable. His colleague Mary was very nice and friendly as well. With our crampons and ice hawk for support we made a tour on the glacier, which was absolutely fun and doable for everyone! Flo explained a lot about the glacier and was very likely to answer questions. The tour was safe (crampons, ice hawk, helmet and climbing harness were provided) and not difficult. The climbing harness was just part of the equipment but was not used. I would absolutely recommend this tour!
