- Freysnes - We meet up at Freysnes gas station by our equipment truck. There we will fit you with the equipment needed to hike a glacier confidently and safely. From there we drive our trusted super-jeeps to the glacier’s edge. Then we will begin our hike towards the ice fall on the picturesque Falljökull.

Embark upon an enthralling exploration to an imposing glacial cascade with the Glacier Discovery tour. Following a brief journey in a robust 4x4 super-jeep, we approach the glacier’s brink. We then don our crampons and wield our ice axes to commence our glacial trek.
This tour is tailored towards those seeking a comprehensive glacial trek in Iceland. Throughout this trek, your guide will elucidate on the geological, geographic, and historical facets of the proximate area, while indicating the unique features of the ice. The perpetual changes of the glacier’s facade and hue throughout the year result in the intermittent appearance and disappearance of features like Moulins, glacial cones, and crevasses.

Hiking on a Glacier - Epic experience! Helped having a knowledgable guide like Kish who has an extensive knowledge due to his background in geology. Really enhanced the tour to the icefall of the Falljokull

10 out of 10 - We had our family of 5. Ages 19-55.
Went with our guide Sam. She was absolutely amazing. She loves what she does and we felt completely safe with her. Highly recommend asking for her. We are adventurous and wanted to climb.
She made the trip a dream come true. There were times when the crampons gave us trouble but Sam was attentive helped us fix them, gave us some pointers and we continued to climb. Would do it again 100% liked the small group size and family feel.

Must do glacier hike in Iceland - Damien, our hike guide made the glacier hike such a fun. We hiked the glacier, climbed ropes, abseiled a bit. Nothing dangerous or risky but so much fun.

Unforgettable - With my adult daughter, we were lucky to have good weather and to be alone with the guide Hanka for this magnificent encounter with the glacier. Hanka is very kind and reassuring, I felt confident and never in danger with her. Normally I'm afraid of heights but here, even on the via ferrata, no worries. She explains everything you need to know about the glacier and answers all your questions. As there were only three of us, she gave us an hour more than initially planned for the visit and we had a great time. It is an unusual, unforgettable experience and absolutely to do with Local guides who are very professional and serious.

Great day out - What a great activity, we were pushed out of our comfort zone, but that was what we wanted. The guide (Rocky) was great, he made sure we were all safe and we all enjoyed the trip.

Glacier Discovery is the ideal way to experience Vatnajokull up close. - Our Glacier Discovery adventure with guide Barbara was simply incredible. Barbara took great care of us, from outfitting us with crampons, axes, helmets and climbing harnesses, to leading the way through the ice fall and giving us interesting and relevant information along the way. Definitely enjoyed the unique vistas and will likely come back for another visit as the glacier is constantly changing and no two tours are ever the same.

positive experience to visit a glacier - The tour was very exciting. it is a tourist tour, you do not expect extreme sporting activities, but breathtaking views. the fact that there are only a few people is very positive, compared to other tours that host up to 16 people. The guides are all very attentive to people and explain well. the equipment is all quality.
the tour does not include visiting ice caves

DO THIS TOUR - Amazing experience!! we were reccomended this tour by some friends and it did not disappoint. Very private and information with a good amount of walking. The ice wall is incredible and you won’t want to miss out on the opportunity. Our guide Helka was the best

Ice Cave Discovery - Fantastic excursion, an amazing experience to spend time on the glacier and the ice caves are a real natural wonder!
It happened to be a very windy day but our guide made sure everyone in the group was ok at all times and adapted the trip to make it as enjoyable for us as possible despite the conditions, locating numerous different ice caves across the glacier that we could experience (and shelter in!) whilst learning about the caves and other glacier features. This was a major benefit of being in a small group (we were 8 people).
Overall really experienced, informative and friendly guide and unique experience, definitely recommend the Discovery option if you have the time.

Amazing experience! - This was an amazing experience. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She shared many facts throughout the tour about the glacier and it’s history. I was nervous about the difficulty of the hike but we made frequent stops to allow for pictures and rest which made everything easier overall. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting!
