After a hike through an alien-like glacial tundra, we will arrive at the edge of the glacier where your guide will assist you in putting your crampons on. After a hike through an alien-like glacial tundra, we will arrive at the edge of the glacier where your guide will assist you in putting your crampons on. We will explore ice caves where your photographer will capture you inside these natural wonders. Once through the lower cave, which is named Sapphire Ice Cave, we will gear up for our hike on the glacier. With crampons on, you will hike to many different formations on the glacier including our famous crystal crevasses. The visuals you will see all around you will create an unimaginable experience as your photographer captures you amongst it.
We are the only tour company in Iceland that offers photo packages along with the smallest group sizes of any glacier tour operator. Every glacier hike through Ice Pic Journeys includes photos from your tour. Each person will receive 10 professionally edited photographs sent via a Drive within the 14 days after your hike. These will include the iconic Blue Ice Cave photos.
- In order to operate this tour we need 2 passengers minimum.
- Photos are edited and sent approximately 14 days after your tour.
- The minimum age for this tour is 8 in the summer and 10 in the winter.

Breathtaking and unforgettable experience! - Krzysztof was such a fun and interactive guide! He explained the science and history behind the immense glaciers and the ice caves. He made sure safety was the top priority while also managing to capture such incredible moments with his camera! I highly recommend this tour and hope you are lucky enough to get Krzysztof as your amazing guide for these colossal blue beauties! :)

Best Tour Best Photos! - Ice Pic was a superb tour company! Last minute we asked to change to the longer tour and fortunately they were able to make it possible, thanks to their correspondence being very quick! Our guide was Klaudia and we could not have had a better guide! She exuded compassion the entire trip! She was patient and informative the entire day. But her calm demeanor and magnetic personality were greatly appreciated. We enjoyed every last moment! And the photos!! Klaudia got so many great photos of us!! Definitely worth purchasing the additional photos! We will most definitely be back and will most definitely ask for Klaudia again!!

Majestic - I have never experienced anything like this before. The splendor of nature is truly amazing.
Christophe, our guide, was equal parts knowledgeable and photographically talented. He ensured there was plenty of time for pictures at each stop.
The tour itself is every bit of the 5 hours they claim with approx 30 min drive to and from the glacier. The hike itself is moderately rigorous at points. They give micro spikes and krampons for different points of it. Christophe was sure to stop if ever we needed it.
Be sure to bring some water and wear layers and good hiking boots.
Highly recommend.

Unforgettable experience with treasured pictures - Krzysztof was an amazing tour guide, he was very kind, generous and knowledgeable about the glaciers. It was just my friend and I on the tour, so it felt like our own private tour. The glacier hike and ice caves were honestly the highlight of our iceland trip. The scenery was breathtaking. I am so happy we booked with ice pic journeys, we originally booked the ice caves and zip line tour, however the zip line portion of the tour was cancelled. We were bummed about that but ice pic journeys took great care of us and we changed to the glacier hike. The whole adventure and experience was fantastic. I would definitely recommend ice pic journeys and hopefully you too will be lucky to have Krzysztof as your tour guide, although I am sure all their guides are great. Thank you for a memorable experience, I would not hesitate to book with them again and again.

Positive Experience - Our guide was not only knowledgeable about the glacier itself, but also shared fascinating insights about the surrounding landscape and Iceland’s geological features. We learned Iceland’s history and the impact of global warming. They are a professional company and I loved the small group experience.
Before we set foot on the ice, they conducted thorough safety briefings, ensuring everyone understood how to use their equipment properly. They patiently answered all our questions and provided tips for navigating the icy terrain with confidence. Their emphasis on safety allowed us to focus on enjoying the climb without unnecessary worry.
Their combination of expertise, commitment to safety, encouragement, and engaging personality made for an unforgettable adventure.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an exciting outdoor experience in Iceland! I am so happy I chose this company over other options. They went above and beyond.

One of a kind! - At the beginning we were very sad because we had booked the zip line tour and it got canceled due to some permits the company has to renew, so we switched the booking to the hike + cave and in all honesty I think that was way better than what we would’ve done on the original trip. Claudia our tour guide was absolutely amazing! She was extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, super nice and took us to the most amazing spots she knew we could have a unique experience in, she made the trip so worth it! I can’t wait to see the amazing pictures she took. For anyone looking to book a private tour with this company I 100% recommend asking for Claudia to be your guide.

The best guide and the best tour in Iceland - We had the most amazing day exploring an ice cave, various stunning spots, and hiking on the glacier. Our guide, Julien Leclercq, was simply the best guide we’ve ever had. He’s incredibly talented in photography, very friendly, funny, and attentive. Julien did everything possible to make sure each of us had the best experience, creating unique and creative photos we never would have thought of ourselves.
This tour is a must-do in Iceland! I didn’t try other companies, but we crossed paths with a few other tours along the way, and none seemed as thorough or as well-organized as the experience Julien gave us. Ice Pic is lucky to have such a dedicated and talented guide on their team.
I would do this tour 1000 times over – absolutely unforgettable, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Must do! - Kristoff was a wonderful guide on the glacier hike we went on. He was very knowledgeable along the way. Definitely one of the best things to do in Iceland if the weather permits.

A decent tour with a grumpy tour guide. - The tour was really not bad. Christoph was a really good guide, and very helpful and knowledgeable.They were an hour late starting one of the guides was really rude and unprofessional. I would not use ice pic again. Before we even got to the glacier the trail split for about ten feet, the other looked easier so I took that one. He yelled at me that we needed to stay in a single line, then he walked on the trail I was on and continued to do that. Once while climbing up a small hill where the guide was he yelled at me and told me the soft souls of my boots were going to brake the crampons. He made sure he was very loud about it. Then when my son stopped on an interesting place on the glacier to take a picture he yelled at him and told him he should not do that. Then kept saying "unbelievable", as if he had told us to avoid some spots on the glacier. I don't have a problem with someone trying to keep us safe, but instead of teaching or explaining something he was just trying to bully and belittle. Very unprofessional. This was the low of an otherwise amazing time in Iceland. What a beautiful place.
Somebody said it was his birthday, so maybe he just did not want to be there, I am not sure. I did not have an enjoyable time and I cannot recommend them.
