Unforgettable Adventure Through Iceland’s Stunning Landscapes! - My experience with the Skaftafell hike was absolutely fantastic! Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, sharing fascinating stories about the landscape, glaciers, and wildlife. It was clear that they were passionate about the area, which made the hike even more enjoyable. The pickup was seamless – right on time, with a comfortable ride to and from the hiking site. There was minimal waiting time, and everything was well-organized, so we could maximize our time exploring the stunning natural beauty of Glacier. For the price, I felt this tour was excellent value for money, considering the breathtaking views and the professional guide service. What I loved most was the variety of landscapes we encountered on the hike, from glacier views to lush greenery, all set against Iceland’s dramatic backdrop. The hike was challenging but rewarding, with plenty of opportunities for great photos. Honestly, there’s not much I would change, though I think a brief stop for snacks or refreshments along the way could have been nice. For travelers, I’d recommend bringing a small backpack with water, snacks, and good hiking boots – you’ll definitely need them! All in all, this hike is an unforgettable adventure and a must-do for anyone visiting Iceland.

Super experience! - Maria is an excellent Guide! She took care of us all the way and tried to keep no one from going away or being in any danger. Your explanations were very concrete, excellent English.

Fun, informative and safe tour! Recommend! - Excellent 3 - hour tour. Total experience including hike, prep, gear and transfer to glacier was around 3-hours, NOT the hike itself. Easy to moderate climbing. Well equipped with safety gear, and tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend Troll. We used them twice on our trip and both great experiences.

Fantastic glacier hike experience - We loved this excursion. However, attendees should know that the walk from the bus to the start of the glacier is 15 minutes (each way). Our bus was too big to get closer.

beware , not small group!! - I booked a small group tour with Troll and to my surprise I discover at arrival that in fact it wasnt a small group, worse it was huge groups that then are divided in smaller ones ( think buses with 50 people) The tour I booked was suppossed to be 8 people and at arrival they told me it would be 16. Not only that is double , it is actually a lot more because they divide the groups but you can see the other groups all the time in the hiking so actually you are in a hike with 100 people. also they say it is like that for all companies and it is not true since my friends went with a smaller company and they actually were in a small group and in less busy parts or other glaciers I guess. They told me that I booked with too much time in advance and that the size of the groups had changed and that was very common. I was never informed of that. I then talked to the supervisor Jay and explained the situtation and he did try his best within the structure of the company to make up for the situation and made our group a bit smaller , 11 people in the end, but keep in mind theese a sub groups , so you see the other groups most of the time. Our guide Kuba also was excellent and saved the day afterall trying to avoid the crowds as much as possible . There is even a cue to the cave ( wich was very disapointing) So overall excelent staff that tried their best to work out the problems of a bad company If you really want a small group experience def dont go with them. there are plenty of other companies to choose from

Mockery - We do not like the tour. It was a mockery. To much money and saw almost nothing. It took an hour to come on the glacier and we scribbled on the ice for a small hour and see no caves or anything.Than go back, another hour. Terrible

Couldn’t reach company, don’t prepay for equipment rentals - I can’t speak to the tour itself because we were unable to attend. The region was under a strong wind advisory, and we were unable to reach the company that morning to determine if the tour was continuing. We didn’t want to check out of our hotel and end up with a last minute cancellation and have nowhere to go, and after speaking with locals who told us these tours almost always get canceled when winds are this strong, we chose to not attend. The tour continued and because we were considered no-shows, we were out our ticket money, which we understood. The issue I have is that they refused to refund us the prepaid equipment rental fees. My advice is for anyone to not bother prepaying for this. They will allow you to rent on the spot, and you will not be at risk of losing your money on this portion of your reservation if you can’t make it. I understand the non-refundable policy on the tickets themselves as they don’t have the opportunity to resell your spot last minute, but extending this policy to the OPTIONAL equipment rental that you can also rent at the time of the tour makes no sense. Don’t rent it ahead of time.
