Ice Cave Tour - A fantastic experience! First time on the glacier, but definitely worth repeating! Our Guide, Sofìa, entertained us for the three hours of the tour with a lot of information about glaciers and Iceland in general, also introducing us to some of the local culture. Walking on ice with crampons and inside the quarry dug by water, following the steps of an experienced person, definitely counts as an experience to try. A highly recommended tour

One of the best experiences in Iceland - This ice cave tour was an incredible experience that I would happily do again. Our guide identified the best photo spots, helping us capture the cave’s breathtaking beauty from various angles. Additionally, our guide was attentive and accommodating, taking photos for solo travelers as well as group shots. He understood our desire to capture every moment and made sure we never felt rushed or pressured. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland.

A chance to see the amazing forces of nature at work inside a crystal blue glacier. - The Blue Ice Cave was one of the highlights of our Iceland trip. We were staying near Vik and were ready to go on the Katla cave tour with another company but checking recent visitor photos from Katla on Google Maps just didn't look that great. Every photo was the same arch with people standing in the the same spot with a lot of people standing around. We found Local Guides by accident and were intrigued by their very informative explainer on what a blue ice cave is and how it differs from other glacier ice caves. Looking at the recent visitor photos on Google Maps sold us on making the drive to Vatnajokull. It was very much worth it and we enjoyed our local guide Damien along with our small group of trekkers. We had plenty of time to explore the cave, take pictures and discover this amazing place. Thanks Local Guides.

Pretty cool experience. - Cool experience. Short walk to the ice cave so anyone can do it. It was a little crowded and I wish there was more of them to see but it's worth it!

Small ice cave and a lot of waiting for other groups to pass through - Had looked forward to this experience but was quite disappointed. The cave itself is very small (would be possible to walk through it in less than 5 minutes easily) but they make you wait at multiple spots, so other groups can pass through before you. This means a lot of standing around and waiting at the entrance and then a short walk through the cave. The ice cave is very beautiful (although a bit dark) and the guide shared some interesting things about the glacier, but out of the 2,5 hour tour most was transport there or waiting for other groups to pass through before us. Considering the price, we did find it underwhelming.

Not Recommended - The guides who were contracted were great. Sadly, the company did not do a good job of giving advance warning of a significant change in the meet up point and a shift in itinerary. Multiple groups were impacted when they changed the location last minute (I'm talking less than 24 hours notice) to a gas station that was 45 mins away from the original meetup. I heard their employees mention that 4 other groups didn't see the email and were missing their tours or forced into the afternoon time slot. Also, they never told us we should check our email for last minute changes, luckily for us we were nervous and checked our spam mail the night prior. On top of that, the full day tour advertised turned into a 4 hour experience instead. What was classified as a cave tour was a walk thru a tiny tunnel (nice but not special or a cave) and then a casual 3 km walk around the glacier. Iceland is of course nice and the glacier itself was cool, but having been on a few glacier tours in other parts of the world, I'd recommend you save your money or go with a provider that is more honest and communicates better, if you must. Additionally based on the conversation I overheard between their employees, they clearly knew of the change to the location etc. a few days prior and withheld the info from us until the last minute to avoid any customer cancellations (by waiting till after their 24 hour cancellation period had ended) as a result of the significant changes to the day. I'll add that this totally screwed up our plans to visit Diamond Beach / Jokusalaron Lagoon on that day, since we expected to be visiting the glacier closer to that area and were instead rerouted to an area much further away. Also, when I inquired about the changes they did not offer any partial refunds and tried to pretend that we were getting a better experience. The fact of the matter is they were trying to cut costs, communicated poorly and threw a bunch of different BS reasons to me by email about how they're running their business at a loss etc. - as though that is any of my concern. You have been warned.
