Amazing Tour! - Amazing tour! A Memory for Life! My husband, 14- year old son and I had never rode a horse by ourselves before. We were well taken care of by the staff!

Wonderful horses - tour suitable for beginners and advanced riders - We are a family of four and two of us have never ridden before. The tour was suitable for all of us. The horses were cute and well-behaved. We could enjoy the scenery and the Tölt, the special gait of Icelandic horses. Some restrictions due to corona applied but they were reasonable. The customer service was excellent as we got answers to our questions even after we got home.

Comfortable and do-able for all. - Took my 9 y.o. for this 1.5-2 hour tour. She has little to no experience in riding. The horses allotted to us were picked out with our experience in mind, so that my daughter felt very safe on hers and I could speed up and test my riding skills and didn't get bored :) The guide was knowledgeable about the Icelandic horse and told us its history in Iceland. The tour suited us well and it should be doable for all.

Beautiful, peaceful ride on an Icelandic Horse - I was in Iceland for just a few days, and rearranged a few things near the end of my trip, leaving me with a free afternoon. I booked the Heritage Tour with Eldhestar, after the company was recommended to me by someone on one of my other tours. I hadn't planned to go riding originally, only because I had another full-day tour I was planning to do and just didn't have time, and I had been riding there once before, some years ago. I was picked up promptly at my hotel and driven to the farm. It turned out I was the only one booked on the 2pm Heritage Tour, so it was just me and my lovely guide Cecilia. She helped me get geared up in a snowsuit and scarf to go along with my own cold weather gear, and after asking me about my riding experience, assigned me a horse. We set out into a spectacular, snow-covered countryside. It was quiet and peaceful, and I feel as though I could have stayed out there all day (if it was a little warmer!). Cecilia showed me how to sit the horse for the tolt, the very cool speed-walk that is unique to the Icelandic horse, and we alternated between the walk and the tolt for the duration of the ride. The staff at Eldhestar are knowledgeable and extremely safety-oriented. The horses are beautiful and clearly well-cared for, and the stable is as pristine as can be. I highly recommend Eldhestar-- even if you are a first-time rider.

Must do in Iceland regardless of the season. - We got the 9 am ride, it was the highlight of my 6 days stay in Iceland in December. The horses were beautiful and gentle. The guide was great. Wish i could have done that all day.
