Great experience - We discovered many animals in the desert that we would never have discovered without our guide, Ernst. He also explained a lot to us about the origin of the desert

Fantastic Way to See the "Little Five" - Very knowledgeable guides and a great way to see some of the local desert wildlife aka: "Little Five" that are unique to this region! After hunting for (and hopefully finding) several creatures the guides then take you on a fun scenic drive through the dunes! Must do when visiting Swakopmund!

Great! - John picked us up from the property on time at 2pm. It was really great. John's been doing the tours for 16 years. You can tell that he likes doing this very much and picked us up with his enthusiasm. We could see more than the five “little ones.” In the meantime it has been forbidden to excavate the spider because it destroys the nests. Absolutely understandable! After about three hours and some great stops we were back at the accommodation.

Great Desert Tour - My husband and I went on this tour with about 8 other people from our tour group. PJ was our guide and he was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing information about what lives in the Namib desert. He also described how the sand is composed of many minerals. We saw the following: Palmetto Chameleon, FitzSimmons Legless Skink (lizard), Namaque Chameleon, Shovelsnouted Lizard, Sidewinder Snake. We spent 3 hours driving and walking thru the desert. I highly recommend this tour.

unknown wildlife in the desert - We were lucky and went on a tour with a total of 3 people in the early afternoon. Ernst was our guide and he was very respectful towards the animals. We didn't see all of the animals, but that's nature. We still had a lot of fun. Ernst is very knowledgeable about animals. He has a great sense of humor and at the end we went on a drive through the dunes, which was also an experience. And he has an eye for the animals - amazing, I would never have guessed that there was something there. He also collected rubbish and that earned him a lot of points from us. It's a real shame that there are people who throw everything away so carelessly. We were very happy with our tour!

Desert up close. Only with the guides can you discover life - A pure desert experience! In winter, make sure you bring warm clothes in the morning. It's cross-country and the guides have a lot to explain. Sometimes it takes a bit too long, but you can take the time to take photos or take in the landscape.

Good tour - Good tour but I set my expectations too high after my friend recommended the Living Desert Tour in Swakopmund to see chameleons. On booking, we were told we would definitely see a chameleon. However, when we were picked up in the morning we were told that this company hadn't seen chameleons for 3 months. But just one week before we did this tour, my friend had seen a chameleon through Tommy's Desert Living tour. Was definitely great to see the geckos and snakes, but I do wish we had booked Tommy's Living Desert.

Unique experience - Nice excursion in the dunes - surprising how one manages to find the (desert) animals (which are hidden under the sand). Extensive and thorough explanation - highly recommended!

The flyer was all about: "This 3 hour tour in small groups". Not recommended and too expensive. - We, 4 people, were picked up by taxi from the lodge. Then, at the organizer's office, we had to pay 850 Namibian dollars per person. At the meeting point, near a motorway, we were a group of 22 adults. The guide was talkative, told of Botswana, Angola, South Africa, Namibia, diamonds, etc. General that we all knew already. All knowledge that had nothing to do with Living Dunes. After 45 minutes of "self-expression" the guide started digging for a lizard in the sand, found it after a while and showed it to us as a "spectacle". After that, the four of us left disappointed, this unsightly, expensive performance.
