- Desert explorers adventure centre - Experience the sheer thrill of riding a quad bike through Namibia’s boundless expanse of shifting sand dunes. This one hour trip will take you on a guided tour through the oldest desert in the world. Guests will receive a short introduction and safety briefing before departure. The tour starts out slow and steady as we head to the larger dunes, giving you a chance to get a feel for your quad bike. Our quad bikes are extremely easy to handle and our guides will be with you every step of the way. Many of our guests have never been on a quad bike before, and always boast a thrilling experience after the trip. Stops will be made when necessary and to take photos - one must capture this amazing experience. Kids are more than welcome. Kids who are too small to ride their own quad bike can ride with a parent or one of the guides. This is surely one of the ‘MUST-DO’s” in Namibia!

We also prioritize the conservation of our desert by only taking set-out routes and ensuring our desert stays clean. Desert Explorers will be sure to give you an unforgettable experience in Namibia. This is a MUST-DO - don’t miss it.
Our tours are not private; however, you are likely to travel with your own group in off-peak season. We generally provide one guide for every six guests.
Note that youth who ride their own quad bike pay the adult price.

Really Fun Experience! - We came on a cruise ship excursion (MSC Poesia) and they used this company. We all had a fantastic time! After the signing of the waivers, they gave us helmets, a short coaching session, and then a slow ride so everyone could get a feel for it. Many of us had never driven quad bikes before but we got the hang of it very quickly! Then we rode full speed over the dunes and it was fantastic fun! We rode for one hour.

Wonderful experience with an experience guide. - Excellent guide and pick up arrived on time. The stuff takes good care of the customers. I learned how to ride a squad bike 🏍 on the sand.

Great experience for everyone! - We were in March with a large group of international conference participants on a 1 hour Quad bike and Camel ride! It was great that Desert Explorers could accommodate the disabilities of a few participants (not able to ride full speed/ or get in the camel) so that everybody got to see the beautiful Namib desert!! Personnell were very friendly and overall everything went super! Thank you!

FABULOUS AND SAFE EXPERIENCE - There were around fifty of us Quads (MSC Poesia Passengers) sharing this magnificent ride, organized with all the mechanical and safety means: TOP! It was proposed to make the return in 3 groups: Low, Medium and Faster, which allowed everyone to finish in style and appreciate this exceptional setting of dunes.
THANK YOU to Mono and all his teammates for your professionalism.

Great explorer dune trip - Great explorer tour, see animals how they live and the dunes magnificent. The quads were great to go up and down around steep dunes of just sand. Pic screens are different

Average dune tour - Average dune tour. Nice but not challenging enough. We did this activity 23 years ago and it was great and we wanted to bring our grown up kids back. However, it was fairly mundane and not to be remembered.

Unfortunately somewhat disappointing - The facility is well organized and ensures safety. But it's all about making the most money. There is no advice that an hour's ride is too long for 9-year-olds. Children of this age can only manage 30 minutes. In addition, the guide simply stopped after 45 minutes - that means that with 4 paying people, 40 minutes are missing (4 x 10 minutes). When I asked the station manager, there was no reaction or answer. You won't be coming back anyway...
