The village is home to several schools of fish, bottlenose dolphins, and humpback dolphins, which can be found just a few meters from the shore. Kizimkazi is also renowned for its historical site, an old mosque built in the 12th century.

Do not do it. - I don't usually leave reviews, but after this experience I had to. We went a dolphin trip, where you can see dolphins and even swim in wild with them thats at least how it's described. The reality is different. Basically you join 30-40 other boats that descend on an area dolphin go to. Then as soon as one surfaces all boats descend full speed on them surround and harass then, people jumping in trying to touch or ride them. Boats everywhere. Just think of jaws when all the boats go out to try catch the shark or the Faroe Island whale culls. It's like the purge. Never have I felt so ashamed to be a tourist it is truly awful. Singly the worst excursion experience I have ever had. How people are not mown down by the boats I do not know. We did see dolphins, but they were just popping are where boats were not, and of course went underwater once the fleet descended on them. I am far from one of the animal welfare and rights people, but this is something that really should not be allowed to happen. It was simply a battle of boats to get their guests able to leap out in front of the dolphins. No concern or care for them themselves and down right dangerous too. We bashed into other boats many times, if you in the water good luck to you. I did read other reviews saying similar things, I should have listened, so please do take notice of this and do not go on this trip. If you are on other boat trips or days out and lucky to see dolphins on those trips then be happy with that. This s**tfest is really awful.
