Syapru Besi - The adventure begins as travelers depart from Kathmandu, heading north to SyabruBesi, the entrance to Langtang National Park. The journey quickly leaves behind the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu, crossing the Shivapuri hills and entering lush farmland. The scenic drive north passes through charming villages and takes approximately 9 hours by local bus.
TREK TO LAMA HOTEL (Elev. 2600 m/8,530 ft)
Lama Hotel - The trek kicks off right after a hearty breakfast. Trekkers cross the Bhote Koshi River and follow the Langtang River, entering Langtang National Park. The path leads toward the rising sun through enchanting jungles of rhododendron, bamboo, and pine, with stunning views of the Langtang Mountains along the way.
TREK TO KYANJIN GOMBA (Elev. 3870 m/12,697 ft)
Kyanjin Gompa - As the trek ascends above the tree line, the majestic peaks of the Langtang Range come into view. Trekkers can gaze down into the lush green valley below. This area is home to the Sherpa people, who live at some of the world’s highest elevations. The route is adorned with colorful wildflowers and passes through quaint villages with stone buildings.
HIKE TO CHERKHURI PEAK (Elev. 4984 m/16,352 ft)
Langtang National Park - Leaving backpacks behind, trekkers embark on a day hike to the summit of Cherkhuri Peak. This trekking peak offers breathtaking views of the High Himalayas. The climb is relatively easy, taking about 1 ½ hours to reach the top. The view is spectacular, showcasing the Langtang mountains in all their glory. Trekkers can look down at the lush Langtang Valley, gaze north toward Tibet, and admire the stunning glaciers and snowcapped peaks. It is a truly enriching experience in Langtang!
RETURN TO LAMA HOTEL (Elev. 2600 m/8,530 ft)
Lama Hotel - After breakfast, the descent back to Lama Hotel begins. Trekkers re-enter the dense forests, yet the beauty of the snowcapped peaks remains visible in the open spaces. The alpine beauty is ever-present, complemented by delightful waterfalls and the jungle’s wild animals.
RETURN TO SYABRU BESI (Elev. 1460 m/4,790 ft)
Syapru Besi - The journey back to SyabruBesi is all downhill. The return trek is swift as travelers make their way down the trail, likely spotting deer and perhaps some monkeys. It takes about 5 hours to reach SyabruBesi, where they check back into their hotel.
RETURN TO KATHMANDU
Kathmandu - Travelers board the bus for the return trip to Kathmandu. The bus meanders along country roads, offering views of the mountain beauty. As the Langtang Mountains fade into the distance, the route crosses rivers and passes farms before crossing the Shivapuri Mountains and entering the Kathmandu Valley. The perfect trek concludes.
