old ships are fun - If you think climbing around on old ships is cool, this place is great. The building exhibits are a little light, but the ships are fascinating.
Don't buy your ticket from TA. Two hours after I ordered it I still hadn't gotten it, and it finally came through at the end of the day, long after I left the museum. This is almost certainly a problem with the museum ticketing system, and TA refunded me, but either buy direct online or in person when you get there.

Warship , Submarine and an 17th century Explorer Ship - Great museum if you're really into warship or ship all around. The guide in the museum is really informative and kind as well. It was amazing being inside submarine , warship , and an exact replica of explorer ship from 17th century. If you're in Sydney , it's a must visit.

Remarkable display of maritime history - A wonderful experience. Excellent presentation both inside and outside. We visited HMAS Vampire both above and below the deck. HMAS SUBMARINE Onslow was great, too, as was the replica of Cook's Endeavour. A great day out for the whole family. The exhibits were staffed by volunteers who clearly loved the place, too.
NOTE. Consessions apply only to residents of Australia. However, the visit is well worth the 25$ regular adult cost.

We enjoyed comparing the... - We enjoyed comparing the USA navy to the Australian navy. The tour guides were prior Australian military that were on the ships that was being used for the museum. I found this super cool to hear their real life story.

Outstanding Museum - What a fantastic place. We are from the UK enjoying a multi-destination holiday, including Sydney.
We decided today to check the Maritime Museum out & I must say we were not disappointed.
Upon arrival we visited the outdoor “Action Stations” vessel visits that included going onboard a replica 1600’s Dutch 3 masted Yacht, a 1960’s
Royal Australian Navy submarine, a full size replica of Capt. Cooks’s vessel, Endeavour & a 1950’s Royal Australian Navy destroyer.
Boarding some of these vessels could be a bit of a challenge, particularly the submarine, however staff were always on hand to give decent advice on safest methods etc. The onboard staff relished visitor questions & they all had a great knowledge of the ships involved.
We later visited the indoor museum. This was very interesting & included a large widescreen viewing facility & a cinema area. The museum was laid out immaculately & the exhibits (some small - some very large!) were impressive.
We spent many hours at the museum today and based on price & experience would have no issue in thoroughly recommending this place.

Interesting exhibits of Maritime artifacts - Both naval and indigenous marine artifacts. Also, there is a very interesting exhibit about all the children and war survivors that were sent to Australia.

What a fantastic resource! A must visit! - From the moment you enter you find friendly staff and super helpful volunteers. There is so much to explore it is worth planning your day. There is construction work in progress but this should not disrupt your experience.

Boats boats boats - 5 out of 5 experience! I highly recommend, sooo much to do inside the Australian National Maritime Museum. I went on submarine, old pirate ship and couple other ships. The inside of the museum had wildlife photography of the year and it definitely a must to see. You would think your spending only 30min or maybe and hour instead to see everything 4 to 5 hours. Definitely worth the money!

Three ships, a submarine and the museum. - Lots to see at this museum. There were three ships and a submarine that you can go through in addition to the museum. Great to be able to see how people live on these vessels. Highly recommended.
