An immersion in Magna Graecia - Choosing the excursions proposed by Enrica De Melio of Viaggio a Sud Est was a unique experience, a gentle immersion in Magna Graecia, in the enthusiasm and preparation of a tour guide who is also a passionate archaeologist.

Give it at least a half day - This merits a long visit. It's an archeological park which is Unesco site. There is a 16,000 seat Greek theatre where Gladiator spectacles took place. Also see the Paradise quarry-- a white limestone quarry filled with tunnels and caves. Your kids (if you bring them) will love how voices echo in the big cave. Some guides sing and it's lovely.

Our Tour with Enrica was fantastic! - We did a half day tour with Enrica exploring the Archaeological Park of Syracuse as well as the island of Ortigia. Enrica’s knowledge and passion for these historical treasures made the tour even better than anticipated! Our teenage boys were in awe - learning about these remarkable cities and ruins from someone with a PHD in Archaeology! Not only is Enrica’s education and knowledge impressive, she is also animated, kind and engaging. Simply put, you will not regret booking a tour with Enrica - a must if you are interested in the storied history of these beautiful cities and its people. Grazie Enrica!

Enrica was great! - My wife and I had a really great tour with Enrica through the Archaeological Park of Syracuse and also of Ortigia. Syracuse is, like many places, much, much more interesting when toured with a guide. Our guide in Syracuse was Enrica and we were really glad it was. Enrica is obviously passionate about her city and has the benefit of being academically qualified to fully inform her customers of this beautiful and fascinating city.

Loads of knowledge at a comfortable pace - We booked Enrica for a tour of the Archaeological Park and highlights of Ortigia and had a wonderful time. There are limited information posts in the Park and Siracusa's history is so complex. It was extremely helpful to have Enrica explain the history and significance of each monument and to point out things we would have otherwise missed such as inscriptions in the Greek theater and what things were overall (some of the items have deteriorated significantly over time and it is hard to make out). Enrica is very friendly and has a deep understanding of the history of Siracusa. She also took us to have the best meal we had in Sicily, we both got pasta and it was out of this world. We kept trying to find a similar place afterwards but to no avail. She took us around at a comfortable pace and helped us to take pictures and pointed out things we may be interested in or need (the market and which place to try there as well).
