The experience unfolds in two parts.

Meeting Point:
Join us at 8:30 AM at the Ortigia market (Burgio Salumeria), conveniently located near the cruise ship port.

Ortigia Market Tour (8:30 - 9:30 AM):
Relish a delightful stroll through the bustling market, shopping for food, uncovering local flavors, learning basic recipes, tasting Sicilian specialties, and exploring fresh and preserved foods. Just a 15-minute drive away is my villa in the seaside area, where the lesson will take place. Private transport can be arranged when you book the experience. In the second part, we will prepare a traditional lunch using some of the fresh ingredients selected at the market and enjoy the delicious dishes you’ve created.

This is a sociable experience, ideal for couples, families, or small groups. Inquire about accommodation if it would be helpful for you.

• caponata, parmigiana,bruschetta,meat or fish dish ,vegetable sweet and sour - The appetizer will be typical Sicilian traditional.Vegetables, fish and local and fresh meats
• Pasta or arancine with ragù , or sicilian impanata with vegetables and cheese - The fresh or dry pasta with meat, vegetables or fish sauce.
  You can specify your preferences, I can also satisfy you with a vegetarian menu.
• Traditional Sicilian dessert ,usually dessert with fresh ricotta - We will make a dessert with local product : ricotta, almonds or pistachio, tiramisu, rolle’, almonds cake, pistachio cake, cannoli.
• Vegetarian menu - On request, the menu can be all vegetarian.

Teresa, a native of Syracuse, spent her childhood here with her family. She will be your guide throughout this delightful experience, offering a practical and accessible cooking course for everyone. The recipes will be seasonal, utilizing only fresh ingredients.

At the market, Teresa will share interesting facts about food, basic recipes, and offer you the chance to taste small portions of local delicacies.

Cook & Enjoy (from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.): If you wish to cook and dine well, visit Teresa’s home. Prepare a seasonal, family-style lunch (meat, fish, or vegetarian) using ingredients selected at the market.

The menu can be tailored to meet your specific preferences. At Teresa’s Villa, you will also experience the warmth of Sicilian hospitality.
