Super unique and interesting experience only found in Sicily! - We had a fantastic show and backstage tour of the traditional Sicilian Puppet Theater. It was such a unique and wonderful experience! The show was in Italian, but the host described to us the story in English so that we would have an idea of what was going on. Even though we didn't understand the language, there was still a lot to take in and appreciate during the 1 hour show. We were amazed at how well the actors moved the puppets and how detailed everything was. And even with the language barrier, we still enjoyed every minute. After the show, the actors showed us backstage to see how the puppets are made and controlled, and told us more of the history behind the Pupper Theater. This was a really amazing and unique experience - highly recommend!

Love the performance - As a son of a sicilian immigrant and being introduced to them at an early age by my grandfather on lower east side of manhattan, in little italy at the italian feasts this was a wonderful treat to watch a performance that was put on by passionate professionals

Favoloso!! - The behind the scene tour that we took prior to the show was amazing. The young puppeteer was so enthusiastic and really did a great job explaining everything. He spoke English very well.

Let the puppets surprise you - We totally enjoyed the puppet show although it was in Italian. They explained the show prior to starting. We also did the behind the scenes tour with Paulo. He was great and has a real passion for puppeteering. Lots of great Surprises behind the stage.

An absolute treat. - Had read about the Puppet Theatre online so had decided to go. Then saw that there was also the option of a behind the scenes tour. We booked tickets for the show and managed to get a behind the scenes tour paid for separately before the show started. The tour only lasted half an hour or so but I'm so glad we did it. Peublo was brilliant, really enthusiastic. Watching the show afterwards we were able to appreciate just what was achieved with basically three controls. The show itself is in Italian. You have the plot outlined in English at the start but there are far too many twists in the plot to absorb it. A summary of what had gone on in the scene before and what lay ahead during scene changes may have been more comprehensible. As others have written, even with scant idea of what is going on with the plot it's all great fun and pretty spectacular. The time flew by

One of the best things we did in Syracuse! - The show was amazing. The actors do everything - including the lighting and sound on the set and make the puppets.

Wonderful - Great show! It’s wonderful to see this art form kept alive. One of the most enjoyable things to do in Ortigia.

Poor organization by Viator - Let me start by saying this review is not a reflection of the puppet show itself. The puppets were amazing and the show was easy to understand even though it was in Italian. The two stars are for Viator’s organization. We were sent to the wrong address and if we hadn’t gotten there early and asked the attendant at the puppet museum, we would have missed the show (which was down the street). We also paid for a behind the scenes tour but no one at the theater knew anything about it. We took several tours with Viator while we were in Sicily and this is the only one that was a disappointment.
