Tanah Lot Temple - Tanah Lot Temple translates to “Land [in the] Sea” in Balinese. Situated in Tabanan, approximately 20 kilometers (12 miles) from Denpasar, the temple is perched on a large offshore rock that has been sculpted by the ocean tide over the years. The temple, a significant part of Balinese mythology, was constructed centuries ago and is one of seven sea temples along the Balinese coast. Each temple is positioned within sight of the next, forming a chain along the southwestern coast. Influenced heavily by Hinduism, the temple is believed to be the work of the revered 15th-century Hindu priest Danghyang Nirartha and plays a crucial role in Balinese spiritualism and mythology. Visiting in the afternoon is ideal for sunset views, kite flying, and watching the Kecak fire dance at 6:15 PM for a ticket price of 100k per person (personal expenses). You can also see the holy snake and holy water.

Visitors can take photos by the lake with the temple and surfers in the background. A traditional market nearby sells typical Balinese souvenirs. You can also rent a speedboat for fishing or exploring the lake.
