A day at Tahbilk tour, a wonderful day! - We really enjoyed our day at Tahbilk and absolutely fell in love with the winery and the estate. Special shout-out to the team for the lovely itinerary they planned for us! Our day guide, Michael, was a really enthusiastic and knowledgeable man who brought so much life to the estate through his stories. The wine-mixing class led by Bruce was loads of fun too and taught us so much about how to appreciate wine; we even got to bring home a bottle of our own mix! We rounded the day off with a scenic boat cruise along the estate’s wetlands, which was made even lovelier by the wonderful blue weather. We had such a memorable time at Tahbilk and are so grateful to the warm and welcoming team for making this possible!

Victoria's oldest Vineyard - My wife and I visited this Winery and Vineyard recently during our holiday in Nagambie, where we stayed at the Nagambie Waterfront Motel near the town centre. This was our second visit to this Estate, as we were here last year and enjoyed our visit so much that we decided to visit again. The main attraction for us was the extensive Eco Trail next to this Estate. We walked across the entire walking trails and were the only visitors during our visit. It was mid week off peak season.

Pleasant experience at Tahbilk Winery - My wife and I were travelling to Benalla for a 2 day Golf Tournament. We left home Sunday morning and decided to drop into a couple of wineries we have never been to in the past on the way. The first was Fowles just off the Hume Hwy and the second was Tahbilk winery. Tahbilk Winery is very old and has plenty of history, in fact we were told it is the oldest in Victoria. The Cellar door was quite large and were greeted by a lady named "June", who was one of the staff with the tasting. My wife and I are experienced, "Wineys" and love and know our wine. June was the most pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable tasting staff person we have ever met. We chatted with her while tasting their wine for over an hour, she was of a similar age and we shared family, travel history and anything else that came up with her while tasting the wine. It was the most pleasant experience we have ever had at a winery. As far as the wine went, we enjoyed their whites, sparkling whites and sparkling shiraz. Not a fan of their Shiraz and Cab Sav, all a bit too much Tanin for us. We purchased a half dozen and continued on our way. June, was a champion lady and what a shame we lived so far apart as we would have loved to have seen her later and formed a friendship. Great Experience.

"A Great Day Out at Tahbilk Winery." - We had a booking for the Tahbilk Cellar door. It is an amazing looking cellar. The staff were very informative and the tastings most enjoyable. We walked away with a few bottles of red and white wine along with a muscat. Also, while you are visiting, take in the museum section and learn the history behind five generations of the Tahbilk family. We were lucky enough to coincide our visit with the Tahbilk farmer's market. Not a very big market, about 25 stalls but the stalls had excellent produce and home crafts for sale. Market Day is the fourth Sunday of the month so keep this in mind when visiting. Between the market, cellar door tastings and the restaurant we had a great day at Tahbilk winery. Highly Recommend.

Significant Australian winery - Tahbilk has a significant place in the history of Australian winemaking. Its old vines pre-date the phyloxera epidemic, which killed almost all Australian grape vines. The wine made from these "old growth vines" is treasured. Tahbilk also has extensive plantings of Marsanne, a rare French grape variety. Marsanne is one of the few white wines that improve with age. The Purbrick family, now one of the First Families of Wine, cointinue to nurture this historic vineyard, which dates from 1860. It's well worth a visit.

Wine blending gastronomy with eco tour - We had the most fantastic wine blending experience hosted by Holly who was as enthusiastic as she was knowledgeable. Micheal shared the history of the farm prior to the blending session and we thank him for providing some “Cane Cut” for tasting at the extensive cellar door. Croquettes, lamb ragu and smoked chicken accompanied their delicious Marsanne for lunch and was served on the deck overlooking the billabong. After lunch old mate Bob skippered us for an informative boat tour and explained how the winery are reducing carbon emissions as well as improving the entire ecosystem. Highly recommend this place if you love food, wine and good people.

Tahbilk is an interesting winery to explore - There is plenty to do at Tahbilk. In addition to the wine tastings that everyone comes for, there is a quality restaurant, picturesque eco walking trails and the unique underground cellars which are all worth a visit. A good half day of interest for everyone.

A beautiful old winery, producing excellent wine and experiences. - A must visit when in the region. We enjoyed an excellent wine tasting before exploring the winery and grounds. A hot tip! Try to co-ordinate your visit with the Farmer’s Market held on the winery grounds.
