It is renowned as one of Southeast Asia’s most significant archaeological sites. Over two thousand pagodas, temples, umin, and other religious structures, primarily constructed during the 11th to 13th century Bagan Dynasty, are spread across a 14 square-kilometer area. Among the most remarkable monuments are the Shwezigon and Shwesandaw pagodas, as well as the Manuha, Ananda, Dhammyangyi, and Thatbyinnyu temples.
