Additional Information

A fan is a device designed to generate airflow for the purpose of cooling. It consists of several blades mounted at a single pivot, with Japanese paper or fabric applied to it to shape the breeze.

During this activity, you are given the freedom to craft your own unique fan by selecting an array of shapes and colors for stamps, allowing you to imprint your imaginative design.

By fusing contemporary stamp art with the classic foldable fan, an original piece of art emerges that embodies both traditional and contemporary styles. This fan, uniquely crafted by your hands, will stand as a beloved and memorable keepsake.

Great!!! - This is such a relaxing activity away from the crowds! The atmosphere is amazing and very pleasant. Take some time away from the usual running around and chill out for a while. I HIGHLY recommend this activity and I hope to do it again!

Try it! Worth it! - We did both the fans and the papier mache with our 2 kids. It was great! It’s only a few minutes from the big Kaminarimon gate, but so much calmer. Pat was so sweet and patient with our 9 and 4 year olds. I definitely recommend this activity to get a break from the craziness that is the rest of Asakusa. The smoothies were yummy too.

Plan ahead. - You only have 45 min, so go in with a design in mind, especially if you aren't an artsy person. The staff was very friendly.

Fun creative experience in Asakusa! - I felt very welcomed when I walked into PINK Asakusa. Karin was very friendly and told me the details about the activity. She spoke to me while I was painting and I felt very comfortable there. It's in a great location and easy to find. I had a lot of fun creating my own fan to take home! I would definitely visit again if I had the chance. Next time, I would like to try creating a goshuincho or try calligraphy! I highly recommend PINK Asakusa for anyone who is creative and wants to take home a nice souvenir back from Japan.
