Up-Close with Sumo Wrestlers in Tokyo - Our timing didn't allow us to attend a sumo tournament during our Tokyo trip, but I think I may have enjoyed this experience even more. We spent significant, up-close time with sumo wrestlers as they practiced for their upcoming tournament. Watching the wrestlers in action was incredible. The highlight was getting the chance to try wrestling ourselves. Learning about the history of sumo and the stable from our guides added a layer of insight to the experience. This was truly a unique and unforgettable part of our trip.

Complete, genuine sumo experience - Very intense experience at a genuine sumo stable. Definitely worth the trip out of the city. We were very well taken care of and left with a deeper understanding of this historic sport.

Authentic sumo wrestling experience. - This was an authentic experience in an active sumo training stable, including many ceremonial traditions. We formed a small audience only 2-3 metres away. The personality and technique of each of the 8 wrestlers was fascinating. Our guides explained the meanings and intracacies of what was happening. The stable manager is a sumo legend. This was better than watching a real tournament. Highly recommended!

The Sumo Experience - The Sumo Experience was very interesting and fun. We were able to watch practice. After practice, we met the sumo wrestlers and were able to ask questions and take pictures. We also ate a meal that the wrestlers eat after practice. I would definitely recommend this experience!

Perfect way to learn about sumo and meet the athletes - This tour was a great family experience. We got to travel outside of Tokyo by train and walked to the sumo stable. During this trip our guides taught us about the history and culture of sumo.
The stable master greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our seats where we watched an hour of sumo training. This stable had 7 athletes training on the day of our tour.
After training we got to sample the food that is typically consumed by the athletes and dress up in typical robes for photos with the athletes.
The sumo wrestlers sat with us, answered our questions and we even got to try to push one of them.
Overall, a wonderful and engaging experience!

Incredible experience and deeply knowledgeable guides - The experience was incredible. We got to experience a real sumo training session, eat with the wrestlers, and even wrestle with one! Tomer and Itays depth of knowledge was incredible as they helped explain the nuances to us.

Awesome tour! - What a fantastic tour! From the very beginning, we were given specific details about where to meet, how to get there and what to expect. Even still, watching the wrestlers warm-up and practice exceeded our expectations. Ryoko and Tomer were extremely knowledgeable about the sport of Sumo and provided us with a lot of background and facts - both about Sumo in general and this specific stable and the wrestlers we observed. The soup was delicious! Everyone was kind and welcoming and we had such a great time! I highly recommend this tour!!

Fun activity/ loads of travel to get there and back. Good food/ great guides and friendly athletes. - Fun day but it's an hour from the meeting point each way, including a walk from the train station at that end (and you pay for your own train tickets). The guides were great and the athletes were friendly. Definitely a unique day, just a big time commitment (a little longer than specified).
