A Home Run Every Time! - Chisei is truly one of my favorite people in Tokyo. I took his class by myself in July, 2024, and since then have brought two separate groups of friends to his tea tasting. It is a hit every. single. time. thanks to Chisei's amazing sense of humor, adeptness at modulating his lesson, and generosity of spirit. His wife Rina was also present at one of the tastings and was an absolute joy to be with. They're so cute together :) Can't wait to bring more of my friends with me on future trips!!

Highly recommend! - This was absolutely wonderful! We had a private tasting and learned many things about the history and production of green tea and matcha. The host, Chisei, is really knowledgeable and could answer all of our questions easily, while Rinas sweets complimented the tasting beautifully. Even the coffee-drinkers in our group enjoyed it a lot, we highly recommend!

Felt like what I’d think a tea farm tour would look like! - The experience was very informative and in depth. If you’re looking to expand your knowledge and understand the tea farming process, you’ll understand why there’s different types of teas, and why there’s different grades of matcha. Chisei and Rina do an amazing job of providing a welcoming, and friendly atmosphere. 10/10 would do it again! Make sure to come un-caffeinated because you’ll be drinking a lot of matcha (in the best way possible)!

Chisei is the Best! - I tried many tours and experiences in my three week trip to Japan, and I have to say that Chisei was hands down the absolute best at teaching. He had quite the monumental task of explaining the farming and production process of six different Japanese teas, but had extremely clear and informative diagrams and pictures that he skillfully referred to as our discussion unfolded. As I asked questions and made comments throughout the process, he was not only patient but actively nurturing and encouraging of my curiosity, a trait that is so uncommon to find. Chisei is a true gem of a person! His passion and inquisitiveness is contagious—it was such a pleasure to take his class! Count yourself as lucky if you are able to spend a morning in his company, he is a rare find!

Must Do Experience! - This was a wonderful and refreshing experience! Before, we had very limited knowledge on tea, and now we know so much! Chisei, and his wife, Rina, were very kind and able to explain everything in detail. They gave a refreshing, cold, welcome tea upon arrival (which was good in this heat wave), then went into detail about the teas they will serve, how they are made, and the process of how to make them. Rina even made delicious homemade Japanese sweets and taught us to eat tea leaves with ponzu. Overall, I highly recommend this experience to tea lovers and even those that do not like matcha, because this was a great experience with many different flavor profiles. They were also very nice to have conversation with. Highly recommend!

Fun experience for tea lovers - My family and I had a wonderful time learning about and tasting different types of green teas. This is run by a couple who are very passionate and knowledgeable about Japanese tea. The experience included an explanation of how different types of tea leaves are made, a tasting of six kinds of green tea, matcha making, and tasting of scratch-made tea cookies (which were absolutely divine). We learned so much and also had a lot of fun. Highly recommend for anyone who loves or wants to learn about Japanese tea.

I started to love tea - I learned that the temperature of the water and the steeping time differ depending on the tea leaves. I was impressed that the same tea leaves can be delicious when brewed at the right temperature and time. Personally, I really liked Japanese black tea. It was refreshing and went perfectly with sweets.
