Highlights
  • Iriya Sta. - Through this tour, We aim to impart my expertise and passion for Japanese cooking to a broader audience, hoping many will partake in this culinary adventure and discover the exquisite flavors of Japanese cuisine.

Our journey begins not just with cooking but also with a visit to a local supermarket. Japanese supermarkets are a treasure trove, offering an extensive range of meats, fish, vegetables, and an array of unique seasonings. We are eager to share my insights on selecting the freshest ingredients, a skill honed through daily practice.

Once we’ve gathered our ingredients, we’ll transition to a professional kitchen studio to embark on our cooking session. Under guided instruction, you’ll master the techniques of Japanese home-style cooking, from wielding a Japanese knife with precision to preparing foundational elements like dashi for miso soup and crafting sushi rice seasoned with vinegar. Beyond sushi, you’ll delve into creating authentic dishes such as miso soup, eggplant dengaku, and the delightful dashimaki tamago (rolled egg).

Upon completing the cooking experience, participants will receive recipes!

Excellent Cooking Class and Experience! - The class was wonderful. We shopped for the ingredients as a group prior to beginning. We walked about 5 mins to the spacious kitchen where we prepped and sliced all of our ingredients, including tuna and salmon. We cooked miso soup, an eggplant dish, a traditional egg omelette and a sushi roll. Mai (pronounced My) was the instructor and was very charismatic, informative and helpful. We didn’t feel rushed at any point. At the end we ate everything and did a Sake tasting and then talked around the table. I highly recommend this to anyone, particularly couples, as this was an unforgettable experience.

Funny experience, good for all kind of cooling knowledge - The lesson is an amusing experience to know something more of japanese food, with fun. The teacher is very kind and follows you in all the planned steps, from the shopping to the management of tools to cook. Dishes to prepare are very easy, so it is a good experience for all kind of people. A Suggestion to the organisers: create an advanced lesson, with some new and more challenging plates.

Definitely recommend it!! - Great experience! Our tour guide was nice, fun and informative. We chopped at a nearby grocery store and learned a lot about some Japanese veggies and meat. We then proceeded to a private place where we made some fun dishes. My two teenagers really enjoyed it. We ate, learned and had fun. We will go back to her if we are in Tokyo again.

Great hosts, delicious food and great company - Both hosts were very nice and always answered all questions. English was very good with only a slight accent. We made maki sushi (wrapped in seaweed), grilled eggplant, miso soup and Japanese scrambled eggs. At the end there was a sake tasting. The food was cooked in a beautiful and new apartment. I can only recommend it highly.
