From the early Heian period to the collapse of the Tokugawa shogunate the samurai and ninja always roamed the streets of Kyoto. Now they are back! The samurai and ninja museum brings back the history and helps you to have a glimpse of these heroes’ glorious lives. What is more, you can have a hands on experience including wearing a samurai armor, doing a shuriken (ninja star) throw and using a ninja blowgun all in one place, all included in the tour.

Really fun - Very fun and interactive. Very nice personal. It was really nice from begging to end. They teach you about the history and the myth with fun activities mixed in

Superb springtime samurai experience - Superb education and family fun ! I visited with my mum and felt it was a great way to learn about Japan's history. The guide we had was Izu, and we thoroughly enjoyed her humourous and insightful commentary.

The last samurai - Very cool experience, got to dress up in costumes. The staff were very nice and helpful with the tour. Definitely a must do if you are visiting Tokyo and want to do something!

Nice family interactive and costuming exhibit - Really enjoyed getting the history talk and an interactive experience. The length was great for a family and benches were also available within the exhibits, so very nice for a family visit.
