Best one day Takayama tour - Yoshi is an amazing guide. He has a very pleasant and helpful personality. I learned a lot and had fun. This is an excellent one day tour for Takayama.

So much more interesting than exploring on your own - You will gain a much better appreciation for both of these places by doing this tour! Our guide was knowledgeable and told great stories about these places in an entertaining way. Especially if you don’t speak Japanese, so much is lost when you just walk around these historic places without a clue. With this tour I learned a lot about Takayama and Shirakawago and had a fabulous time.

Touring with an old friend - We had a great tour of the historic Takayama government building followed by a walk through the old district. Our guide recommended a really great Ramen restaurant for lunch. We took a bus to Shirakawago and toured the old village. It was a great day. Our guide was enjoyable to talk with and gave us great information about the history of the sites we explored. It was like touring with an old friend.

Excellent guide and tour - Excellent tour of Takayama and Shirakawa-go with Hemi from Snow Monkey Resorts. Knowledgeable and informative with his commentary without being overbearing and making it feel like a history lesson. Moved at a great pace with time to enjoy what we were seeing and experiencing without ever being rushed. Highly recommend.

Really informative tour - Really informative day out and Hemi was a terrific guide. Really interesting tour with a group of only 5 so able to ask plenty of questions and get lots of information. Would recommend if you only have a short time in Takayama. Thanks Hemi.

Yoneya made this trip memorable! - My wife and I ended up being the only 2 on this trip and our guide, Yoneya (Yoshi) made it memorable. He was very knowledgeable about Takayama (long time resident) and gave us a comprehensive tour of Takayama jiya and its history. We walked the marketplace, sampled local food and headed to Shirakawago in the afternoon. Shirakawago was about an hour drive but breathtaking - we had plenty of time to walk the village, go to observation point and visit a historic house. Back at hotel by 5:30pm but very well worth the full day investment. Loved talking to Yoneya about Japanese history, politics and exchanging personal stories - highly recommended!

Amazing day tour. - Thank you! My tour guide is Hemi and he's fantastic, very informative and helpful. I was the only customer on the day which made it a private tour and had an amazing day. The itinerary was just right, packed with the must sees without being too exhaustive. I had so much appreciation on what I'd seen compare to visiting these places on my own. Highly recommended.
