The Assy Plateau is located 120km from Almaty, a mere 2.5-hour drive. We will travel east through the Kuldzhinskiy tract. Along the route, we can pause at the Issyk museum, 60km away, 1.5 hours en route, to see ancient burial mounds and the preserved ‘Golden Man’ excavations. Post traversing the Turgen Gorge (additional 40km, 45min), we arrive at the plateau. After a brief 10-15 minute drive along the plateau, you will be dropped off for a trek to the observatory.
