For our meal, we’ll then return inside to enjoy a hearty dinner of chili (with or without reindeer), potatoes, and sourdough flatbread. You’ll have the opportunity to hear the history of this unique cabin, starting with its beginnings as a saloon in the early 1980s, and learn how your hosts (the current owners) became reindeer farmers. For dessert, we’ll head back out to the fire for s’mores (if there’s still room!) and some closer interactions (petting and snuggling) with the reindeer. Throughout the experience, you’ll discover what makes reindeer so fascinating, how they live as farm animals in the subarctic, their history with Alaskans and other parts of the world, various reindeer lore, and much more. The setting is both enlightening and peaceful, and you’ll leave with unforgettable memories and stories of your own.
