Did you know that Estonia was a part of the Soviet Union for four decades?

Contrary to popular belief, vodka was not the only drink consumed in the USSR, although it was indeed the favored choice amongst the working class.

The upper crust of society, however, had a palate for finer tastes like Armenian brandy and Georgian wine. Unique vodka variants were created for large-scale Communist party gatherings. And for celebratory moments such as the New Year and birthday celebrations, a toast with the bubbly Soviet champagne was a must.

Estonian drinks like the Vana Tallinn liqueur also found their way into the Soviet liquor tradition.

This taste adventure takes place in a superb restaurant situated in the heart of the Old town square.
