Peter the Grear! Exceptional! - Peter was an incredible guide and went above and beyond with his historical knowledge, time and places to go! We were joined by a single young man and we all had a fun day, full of good food, drink and laughter. We only had one day in Tallin, and he really showed us the Estonian culture, food and grand hospitality. We came Away hoping we can return for longer. What an exceptionally gorgeous city.

Tallinn Food Tour - A walk around town with a local - Our tour with Paul was like having a local friend take us to fantastic spots around Tallinn and teaching us about the local culture and history. Fantastic! Highly recommend. I wish I’d had more time to go back and visit a few of the spots we’d gone especially those off of the beaten path. Fingers crossed for the next time.

Just ok - This is a very good food tour. I’d say it’s informative and includes some local faves my issue would be that the places are not off the beaten path at all. They’re all written up in all the guidebooks and lists you can find in the internet. It would have been nice to have some more local places that aren’t as easily found as a tourist. Overall, if you’re short on time I’d skip it in favor of some of the walking tours which I found excellent and are more affordable.

Mattur in Tallinn - It really felt like eating your way through Estonia during this food tour. What is offered in the way of food during the tour may not be exceptional in any way. But by using the food, snacks and drinks offered at the various stops in completely different environments as a common thread, you get a good insight into Estonian society. The country has probably been through a lot but through the food you can still find traces of a food culture that goes way back. Maybe for better or worse. On our tour, we were accompanied by a local guide who also had many years of experience living and living in the USA and Finland. It felt like it added another dimension to the Tallinn experience. Now we came from Pärnu, after a few days there, and had collected some questions about life and food in Estonia before the actual food tour, it was good for us. On our food tour we were only 7 and a guide. A small neat group that had a good time together.

More of a walking tour than a food tour - While the host of this food tour was absolutely lovely and engaging, and Tallinn itself is a stunning city full of charm, I must admit that this tour fell short of expectations—especially for a "food tour." The tour started on a promising note with a savory fish dish on toast, but that was, unfortunately, the only savory item on the entire tour. From there, it was all desserts: a chocolate factory, almond cookies, yogurt, candy bars from a grocery store, and mini pancakes typically found at Christmas markets. It was disappointing to leave a food tour feeling hungry, especially after paying a premium price. There were also logistical issues. We visited restaurants that were either closed or had lines too long to enter, which could have been avoided with better planning. On other food tours I’ve taken, the hosts ensure they’re in contact with restaurants in advance, or they have backup plans in place. At one point, we skipped a 30-minute line for a restaurant (likely another opportunity for savory food) only to sit for 30 minutes elsewhere for a history talk. It’s baffling why we couldn’t combine the history lesson with waiting in line. The structure of the tour was also puzzling. Stops often felt drawn out, with long periods of standing around talking rather than enjoying food. The final stop at a pub offered a chance to try a local beer, but again, no substantial food was included. I ended up ordering a meal on my own after the tour because I was still starving. Ironically, the pub had excellent food—why wasn’t it part of the experience? While the historical commentary was well-delivered and interesting, the tour felt more like an overpriced walking history lesson with a sugar overload than a true exploration of Tallinn's food scene. For the price (over three times the cost of a hearty meal in the city), I expected far more. If you’re looking for a food tour that actually showcases a variety of local dishes, this is not it. While the city and the host are wonderful, I cannot recommend this experience in its current format.
