Las Catalinas Snorkeling - Snorkeling was quite interesting. Visibility wasnt great but that changes day to day. Guides were very professional and explained a lot about the ecosystem we were in. Bring binoculars for the boat ride for a chance to see Whales, turtles, dolphins and birds!

Very fun and relatively... - Very fun and relatively easy activity (from someone who is not a strong swimmer)! Went by boat and got everything we needed, the water was perfect temperature (no wetsuit needed) and saw lots of colorful fish. We also saw some white tipped sharks and an eagle Ray, and on the boat ride back saw a couple humpback whales! Snacks were tasty and to was great to chat with the scuba dive people too and compare what we all saw. Overall, great morning!

Snorkeling and Gorgeous Boat Ride - There are plenty of friendly and knowledgeable crew members who make the trip safe, fun, and educational. This was a high point of our trip to Costa Rica. At least 2 hours in the water seeing beautiful fish. Our team guide was Lilly who is absolutely amazing. I saw an eel and my wife saw a manta ray. Crew is bilingual and so helpful to older snorkeling novices like us.

This was a phenomenal... - This was a phenomenal experience. Everyone from the drivers to the snorkelling guides was so friendly. My girls struggled with the masks, at first, and the guide was extremely understanding and supportive. She talked them through it and made sure they were close and safe the whole time! We saw dolphins and a whale as we were boating to and from the location. The fish and sea life was absolutely incredible to see as well! I would give them 10 stars if I could!!

Seeing some cool fish while fighting the waves - We met at the Dive Shop where they provided us with fins, masks, breathing tubes and coffee. They then brought us out to a small boat which carried us to a bigger boat that then brought us about 45 minutes out to a set of islands. The waves were a bit rough, so they provided each snorkeler with a pool noodle to help stay afloat. We saw lots of cool fish as we swam around one of the islands. I accidentally drank in some sea water and was sick. Thankfully our snorkel kind was excellent, coming over with a floating ring and bringing me back to the boat. They were excellent. The rest of the swimmers went for a second snorkel and saw more fish. Snacks and water were provided on board.
Overall the crew was great and we saw lots of cool things. Just be careful if you are prone to sea sickness and to not drink the ocean :)

Enjoyable snorkeling but recommend teens and up. - Fun experience. Guides were friendy and added to the experience. Does not appear to be the greatest area for snorkeling. Saw some colorful tropical fish, rays and a shark but you had to work for it and be patient. For beginners, make sure to ask for instructions before jumping off the boat.

Nice folks. Poor priorities on safety and service - Just ok. They had some scuba groups on board that had priority. We were dropped off in pretty deep, water where it was dificult to see much and then the boat left us to check on other groups. The young guide had only a whistle to alert the boat which was way out of range. We just treaded water until the boat came back...

Do not book for snorkeling. - If I could give zero stars…I would.
This review is based on the snorkeling g experience.
First off directions were not clear from the booking and talking to the tour operator. The meeting spot was literally down the street but Tamarindo does not have street names on the streets and we walked 20 minutes out of the way to get there (a few minutes late). Anyway, we get to the dive shop and get our snorkel mask and find then head to the water to take the Porter boat to the bigger boat. Once we got on the boat we were moved many times in order for the instructors to get the scuba gear ready. There were approx 15 scuba divers and 5 people snorkeling. This tour was definitely about the scuba divers as they completely ignored the snorkeling people and we were always last to get in the water. We also noticed that we were not asked or offered a wetsuit/stinger suit as everyone else had on. Felt lots of little stings while in the water.
First spot was quite wavy and the water was not clear. We did see a stingray and a few fish but the visibility was minimal. Second stop was so wavy that after a few minutes in the water they had to signal the boat to come get us.
I would not recommend this tour for snorkelling.
Snacks were package cookies or crackers, later a couple pieces of pineapple. Water was offered from a big jug in reusable numbered plastic cups from who knows where

Not a tour for snorkeling - This is not a tour for snorkeling. Main focus is divers and it shows. The water was very rough and cloudy. Very difficult to see anything. Second spot was so rough we couldn’t even snorkel at all.
