Up close with nature - The estuary tour was such a special experience, giving us an up-close look at Costa Rica’s incredible wildlife. Our guide (Ivan) was fantastic—despite initially thinking he didn’t speak English, he surprised us with his knowledge and humor. He got us so close to a crocodile hiding in the shade that it felt thrilling yet completely safe. Stepping onto land to see monkeys swinging through the trees was a highlight, and we even spotted raccoons, vibrant crabs with red and yellow undersides, and so many beautiful birds. Watching the tide drop over just a couple of hours and seeing how skillfully our guide navigated the sandbars was impressive. The freshly cut pineapple and cool water provided onboard were simple but refreshing touches. It was a peaceful, immersive way to experience Costa Rica’s stunning biodiversity. In addition, Native Way arranged our transportation at a very fair price & even built in time for us to get lunch & adjust our drop off location. Very very cool.

Great estuary boat tour - Our family loved this tour. Our guide Ivan was knowledgeable, patient and really friendly. We got lucky and saw young crocodiles, iguanas, a variety of birds and even monkeys on our stop in the jungle. Highly recommend.

Estuary river boat tour - We took our grandchildren (ages5-12). They loved the boat tour and the critters. They wouldn’t stop talking about it for days.

Great Estuary Tour - Cool boat ride up the estuary. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. Saw a lot of birds, and a few smaller crocs. Riding through the mangroves was awesome. We rented a car and drove to the meeting spot, about 5 min from Tamarindo. Communication was also through What’s Ap. Not too long, but enough to feel like a heat excursion.

Excellent Tour & Guide - Our tour was exactly what we hoped it would be. We were picked up close to our condo. The guide was knowledgeable with an explanation but also gave us time to enjoy the sounds of nature. We saw Crocodiles, monkeys & a variety of birds. Our guide provided water and fruit. Excellent tour!

Relaxing and informative experience - This was an easy way to pass a few hours and learn a little about the surrounding area. There are not a lot of sightings of wildlife but we did get to see a baby and momma crocodile. We were able to explore a wider area and actually located a large group of monkeys which was extremely entertaining . We have a daughter that had surgery a few weeks back so I reached out in advance to see if they could accommodate her. They were very kind in assisting her. Ivan was knowledgeable and entertainin

Heavily Touristed - My family, in general, enjoyed this boat trip because it was nearby and was a change from being on the beach. Ivan is knowledgeable and tried his best to find as much wildlife as possible but the estuary is heavily trafficked and what we saw were mostly birds. Other areas such as the mangrove tour around Tortuguero on the Caribbean side are much better.

An “okay” location - We did this activity at noon on the last day of our CR visit. Spent a couple of hours to see 2 small crocs and few birds. The guide/boat captain was friendly and knowledgeable. If you have absolutely nothing else to do, you can spend a couple of hours in the mangrove here.
