My daughter and I did not... - My daughter and I did not know what to expect from this experience, but it far exceeded what we were expecting. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and it was such an amazing experience and we really lucked out because we got to see two turtles and one was actively laying eggs. I would highly recommend this to anyone with interest.

Incredible Up-Close Experience with Turtles - What an unforgettable night! The turtle night tour was everything we hoped for and more. They picked us up right on time, and after a scenic 40-minute drive out of town, we arrived at this beautiful, protected section of Las Baulas. Our guide was fantastic—knowledgeable, patient, and had an incredible eye. He spotted a turtle in action, and we got to quietly witness her dig her nest, lay her eggs, and carefully cover them up. It felt surreal to be so close to such a natural and ancient process. The whole experience was peaceful, magical, and well-organized. Highly recommend this tour—it’s one you’ll never forget!

Amazing experience! - What a super experience! The guides, especially Eric, were amazing, and so full of information and help. We watched a mama turtle lay eggs, something we’ll never forget. Plus the night sky was a marvel. Be prepared- The ride is very bumpy, and the walk to the ocean in the dark very uneven. As someone with bad knees/balance, Eric stayed by my side to make sure I was safe. It was great service and a very special experience. Highly recommend! I recommend wearing close toed shoes, which may get wet, but better than sandals for the walk.

Accommodating tour guide guaranteed wildlife experience - We were not able to see the turtles before leaving (other tours stayed longer than the expected cut-off time and did see a turtle), but our tour guide offered us a boat ride through the estuary the next day. It was a great experience where we came within an arms reach of monkeys. While we didn't see the turtles, we booked this guide because we wanted to take in the diverse ecology of Costa Rica while we visited and our guide delivered exactly that. They were knowledgeable about the animals and environments we saw and happy to answer questions.

Would recommend - The road is wicked. If you have motion sickness beware. But the staff was AMAZING. Could not say enough about how wonderful they were. We did see nesting turtles which was a huge highlight of our trip.

A moment suspended! - We went to a first beach as it was more likely to welcome turtles for laying however rather than walking along the beach, the guide told us to sit waiting while he went around the beach. After a phone call from another group, we almost ran to change beaches and arrive in time to see a turtle in the middle of a clutch! We are grateful to have observed this phenomenon in the respect of the animal, the guide was really careful not to get too close to the turtle but we could very well see the eggs! She then filled the hole and returned to the water, we stayed until the end.

Overbooked tour - Way over capacity. Per tour description, this tour has maximum of 15. On our tour, I counted 24! This can lead to 2 drawbacks: limited viewing time per person and uncomfortable ride to park. The guide, Juan Carlos, was very professional and knowledgeable. He made it more tolerable.

Read the reviews before booking. - More difficult than the Viator description describes. 'That's nature' as I was told many, many times. Be prepared for a long walk in the dark and five hours for the trip. For record, we DID see one turtle scurrying back to the ocean.
