Amazing experience! Definitely recommend!! - Our trip to the Rincon de la Vieja was amazing! Our tour guide, Kevin, was incredibly knowledgeable about the forest from telling us fun facts about specific plants, trees and animals to the rich history of Rincon de la Vieja. He made sure everyone was comfortable with the pace of our hike and ensured we had plenty of water breaks. On our hike we were able to see spider monkeys, hear lots of howling monkeys, butterflies, iguanas and much more. The waterfall was smaller than I expected but the water was cold and super refreshing. From cool water, we went straight to the hot springs which was such a nice way to relax our muscles after a day of hiking. Overall we enjoyed everything: our hike, the waterfall, the hot springs and the lunch!! Definitely be sure to bring sunscreen, repellant and closed toe shoes. We brought sandals and were fine, but did get bit from a tiny ant (those ants definitely pack a pinch but the pain only lasts a split second). So be careful of your toes!

Bio Diversity Perfection - Kevyn Piña was an excellent tour guide. I highly recommend this tour for bio diversity enthusiasts. The hot springs were the highlight for me, but the hike in El Rincon de Vieja was unforgettable. We appreciated how Kevyn explained the different ecological features throughout the entire tour.

Found us spider monkeys and white faced monkeys. Waterfall was amazing as well as mud fun and hot springs ! We were fortunate to get picked up at our hotel for no additional fee . Lunch stop was very good as well. Would highly recommended to all.

Very Good Choice - So first of all our main guide was Nicole and main driver was Frank. They both were EXCELLENT ! The reason I wrote them as "main" driver & guide is well as with most foreign country tours there always seems to be some "herding" going on. These guys did pick us up in a 15 passenger bus as promised but then they took us to a central meeting point about 1/2 way to the NP we were going to (Rincon de Vieja NP). These folks were extremely efficient and where we made the switch from one van to the other happened with precision clock work (unlike others we have experienced). So enough with that bs, all good ! So our 1st leg was a 2 hr hike around the volcano where you see and smell the Sulphur vents. Very interesting and a very good hike (maybe 2.5 miles & approx 500' of elevation). 2nd stop is another shorter hike of maybe 1/2 mi each way where you get to cool off in a nice natural pool under a waterfall. Then they take you to a very yummy buffet style lunch. Then the 3rd leg (last) is another maybe 1/2 - 3/4 mi each way hike to an area that has about 8 different natural hot springs pools rang I ng from about 95 to 112 F. All inclusive and around a 9-9.5 hr tour. Same thing on the way back where the switch to original van, driver and guide may have taken 10 mins. Highly recommend these folks. The know what they are doing !

An excellent tour - Usually I don't write reviews. But this was exceptional. I'm a Solo traveler without a car. First of all I want to say that I was picked up by minibus with air condition on time. First class driver Frank and tour guide Santi. We did moderate hike for 2 hours. Our guide spotted rare birds, snakes, sloths and explained the importance of all different trees. He is so knowledgeable and dedicated person with a lot of patience. Next we went to beautiful waterfall. Santi never rushed us out of pool, we fully enjoyed pleasant cold water after hike. Next was wonderful fresh buffet lunch. That was so delicious and a lot with different variety of food. The culmination of our tour was hot natural springs with mud, that was awesome. And the again we took our time to put mud all over our body. During our tour Santi was taking our pictures. And at the end of the day the driver Frank took us to the point to see the magnificent sunset. Thank you very much. The best tour ever.

Out of breath - Nicol was so sweet and knowledgeable. She made sure we were having a great and let us ask as many questions as we needed. Just prepare yourself there are a LOT of steps on this hike but the waterfall and hot springs are such a sweet reward!

fun at the waterfalls! - We did the April 30th tour with Stephanie as our tour guide. The hike was pretty hot being in April but the waterfall hike and swim made it all better. It was beautiful water and had fun suspension "steps" to navigate going to and from the waterfall. it was a fairly large group and I think clearer directions could have been given at some points but overall Stephanie kept us on track and did a great job dealing with unforeseen events like a traffic jam near the Liberia airport and one unhappy, continually complaining participant. Her wildlife knowledge and camera skills were impressive! We enjoyed the tour and would do it again, maybe in a cooler month.

Amazing areas to go- not good guide person - Nice trip very bad guide person. If you pay per a tour you expect a lot of information about the place, also good time management and tips if you have to walk under very high temperature. Our entire group have the same complaint
