Outstanding unforgettable day with Youssef - An outstanding day with our amazing tour guide, Youssef, a Tangier local who is proud and passionate about his city and country . A published author and well-known figure in the community. This tour was a vacation highlight!
Our tour included an intimate perspective of this city, visiting so many sights including homemade treats and a visit in a Moroccan home.
We covered so much in a day, thank goodness our photographs captured all the incredible vistas and details. We will definitely recommend Youssef to all our family and friends!

Outstanding! - Youssef was an outstanding guide in every way—prompt, knowledgeable about history and culture, friendly, and hospitable and his English was impeccable. He also knows just about everyone in Tangier! We even met one of his actor friends. The weather was miserable—a driving rain for most of the tour!—but Youssef remained cheerful and professional and completely saved the day. Highly, highly recommended!

A wonderful sensory experience in Tangier - Youssef was an excellent tour guide and took us everywhere we could have wanted to go in Tangier. He tailored the experience based on what we wanted to see, and helped us get a few special items (like a custom spice blend). He definitely seemed to know everyone and we ended up feeling like locals in the city after only a few days there. Highly recommended.

A great way to see Tangier in a day - My wife and I booked a tour with Yousef, on the recommendation of the Rick Steves guidebooks. We are happy with this choice and recommend it to others. It was a great way to see Tangier, especially because we had very limited time.
We did this tour as a day trip from Tarifa Spain. Youssef sent us the reservation number for our ferry tickets, and we picked the tickets up at the ferry terminal with no problem.
The ferry ride over and back was fine. The ferry is fairly typical, with comfortable seats. It has a snack bar, of course. We cleared Morocco passport control and customs on the ferry. When we got off the ferry, Youssef was right there with a sign, so it was easy to find him.
We really enjoyed the driving tour of Tangier City, where we viewed the parks and hills of Tangier city. Several beautiful parks, with good views of the sea. We enjoyed the Cave of Hercules and seeing where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. Youssef offered to take us to a camel ride, but we declined, having done those before. Next was the highlight of the tour; Youssef took us to his house and his wife served us tea and sweets. We really enjoyed getting to make new friends.
Youssef dropped us off at a restaurant for lunch. We ordered from the menu, and when we were done, the restaurant called Youssef, and he picked us up. Youssef then gave us a tour of the old city and Kasbah. We aren’t overly interested in shopping, so we didn’t purchase any souvenirs or other items, but it was fun to see the city.
As other reviews have mentioned, Youssef was a very good host. He made us feel quite comfortable. He seems to know almost everyone in town, constantly greeting people and shaking hands throughout our tour.

A Wonderful Day in Tangier with Youssef! - We had a wonderful day exploring Tangier with Youssef as our guide. He picked us up at the ferry station with a car and driver. We began by exploring the new city by car, learning about its development and transition. It was so different than we expected. We drove to the top of the city where the wealthy live before descending down to the Atlantic coast. An unexpected surprise was being able to ride dromedaries on the beach!
Then we had another special experience- having tea and sweet treats at Youssef’s home, learning more about the culture and learning that he is a computer author in Tangier.
As we walked through the old town, we continually met friends of Youssef. It made us feel more like locals than tourists.
We learned and encountered so much on our day in Tangier with Youssef. We highly recommend him as your guide to maximize your experience in Tangier!!!

A day with the Mayor of Tangier - He was incredible! A true local. Had so much knowledge to give us. By the end he was like family. Everyone greeted him while walking around the beautiful streets of old town. We nicknamed him the Mayor of Tangier.

A great day in Tangier - We had an amazing tour of Tangier with Youssef. He told us there 1.2 million people that live there and I’m pretty sure he said hello to 999,999 of them along our walk. The tour was filled with all the history and sightseeing you would expect, but then also had a lot of personal touches that really gave us a sense of what it is like to live there. We also were lucky to be there on a Sunday which was a “market” day so the casbah was rocking.
The lunch spot he took us too was fantastic and reasonably priced. We learned to haggle for rugs. A great day and experience.
