Arusha is a city in northern Tanzania, serving as the capital of the Arusha Region, with a population of 416,442 and an additional 323,198 in the surrounding Arusha District. It is situated below Mount Meru on the eastern edge of the Great Rift Valley’s eastern branch. Arusha enjoys a temperate climate and is near several notable locations including Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Arusha National Park on Mount Meru.
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Start your day with breakfast at the lodge, followed by a morning walking safari in Tarangire National Park, accompanied by an armed ranger. An afternoon game drive will continue until lunchtime, when your driver will set up and prepare a full hot meal. Enjoy soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad, followed by a glass of wine, tea, or coffee. In the evening, check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Tarangire National Park spans approximately 2,600 square kilometers and, during the dry season, has the second-highest concentration of wildlife after the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. The park is located south of the expansive grass plains of southern Maasai land and is named after the Tarangire River, which provides a permanent water source for the area’s wildlife.
Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park - After breakfast at the lodge, embark on a morning walking safari in Lake Manyara National Park with an armed ranger. Continue with a game drive until the afternoon. At lunchtime, your driver will set up and prepare a full hot meal. Enjoy soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad, followed by a glass of wine, tea, or coffee. After lunch, resume the game drive until evening. Head to the lodge for dinner and a night game drive before returning to the lodge for an overnight stay.
Lake Manyara is an excellent introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife, with over 400 species recorded. Even first-time visitors to Africa can expect to see around 100 species in a single day. The acacia woodland inland of the floodplain is home to Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, drive to the Serengeti to witness the great migration. In the afternoon, your driver will find a scenic spot to set up and prepare a full hot meal. Enjoy soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad, followed by a glass of wine, tea, or coffee. You may encounter other guests from different companies, but our service stands out with a 5-star experience. After lunch, continue with an afternoon game drive to view the great migration. In the evening, check into the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Serengeti National Park is renowned for its abundant resident wildlife, particularly the “Big Five,” named for the five most coveted trophies by hunters. The Serengeti is believed to have the largest lion population in Africa, thanks to the plentiful prey species. Over 3,000 lions inhabit this ecosystem.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - Today, enjoy a hot air balloon safari. You’ll be picked up from the lodge at 5:00 am for the balloon ride. After landing, celebrate with champagne and a hearty breakfast. Continue with a game drive in the Central Serengeti, Seronera area until lunchtime. In the afternoon, your driver will set up and prepare a full hot meal. Enjoy soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad, followed by a glass of wine, tea, or coffee. Later in the afternoon, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Even when the migration is not active, the Serengeti offers some of the best game-viewing in Africa. You’ll see large herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephants and giraffes, and thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala, and Grant’s gazelle. Explore various habitats, including swamps, woodlands, soda lakes, and the famous Serengeti short grass plains, home to vast herds of wildebeest and zebra.
Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - After breakfast at the lodge, embark on a game drive in Central Serengeti National Park to search for big cats and the “Big Five.” In the afternoon, your driver will set up and prepare a full hot meal. Enjoy soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad, followed by a glass of wine, tea, or coffee. Later in the afternoon, drive to Ngorongoro for dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Magnificent Wildlife
The only living things that seem to truly belong to this land are the wild animals. There is an understanding between the animals and Africa that humans have yet to earn.
Laurens van der Post, Venture to the Interior, 1963.
Today, the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya protect the greatest and most diverse collection of terrestrial wildlife on earth, preserving one of the last great migratory systems still intact.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a morning game drive in Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day tour. Your driver will set up and prepare a full hot meal under our car shade. Enjoy soup, bread rolls, a main dish, and fruit salad, followed by a glass of wine, tea, or coffee. After lunch, continue the game drive until late afternoon. Return to Arusha and be dropped off at the airport.
The highlight of Ngorongoro is its deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. Measuring about 20km across, 600m deep, and covering 300sq km, the Ngorongoro Crater is a stunning natural wonder. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the crater’s main features. Here, you can usually see a large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds.
