Go Safari! with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris - Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris has great guides, and accommodating, flexible office staff. I did a small group tour to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire and Lake Maynara, with an additional couple days solo to Materuni Waterfalls/Coffee Plantation and a hike to Cathedral Point on Mt Kilimanjaro. Meru had a driver waiting for me when I arrived at JRO, and arranged for my hotel the night before the safari began. We spent 1 day in Tarangire, 3 in the Serengeti, 1/2 day in the Crater and 1/2 in Lake Maynara. Our safari guide, Robert, was very knowledgeable and friendly. After the rest of the group finished their tour, I had 2 days left in Arusha and I was given several day trip options. I spent 1 day going to the Materuni Falls and Coffee Plantation with Fidelis as my guide, and that day I decided I would like to do a day hike on Mt Kilimanjaro the next day. Fidelis called the office to see what could be arranged, and Meru was able to find a guide for my last minute hike request by the end of the day. Oscar was my guide for the hike the next day. Fidelis and Oscar were also friendly and great guides. In addition to the last minute hike, partway through the safari I requested that, if possible, my accommodations be changed (due to a communications error on my part, the initial accommodations were a bit lower budget than I preferred), and after a couple phone calls between Robert and the Kelvin, in the office, the change was made. Meru made everything easy. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the safari, and Meru Slopes was a very easy company to work with! I highly recommend them!

Awesome safari experience! - The 5-Day Safari was a great experience. From the beginning we felt well taken care of and the communication with Meru Slopes was good. They organized everything really well! The driver Andrew and chef Moshi were with us during the experience and it was lovely to enjoy freshly cooked meals during the trip. We were able to see the big 5, lots of other animals and the driver was awesome at helping us to spot them! Thank you to the whole team for making this experience truly unforgettable!

Great safari! - We went on a 5-day safari with Meru Slopes in Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro parks. Everything went very well: good communication, flexibility on our requests, good lodges, comfortable vehicle, and especially very experienced Guide who did everything to make the most of our first safari. 5 Star: Professional, Knowledgeable, Safe - 5 Star Safari!! From start to finish, all aspects of Meru Slopes was excellent. Gift Tembo was very responsive & timely in all our planning & payment communications. He even came to our final hotel in Arusha to hear first hand from us our experience & review. He asked for ways to improve as well. Since we were 100% satisfied, we could not offer any improvements. Our safari guide & driver, Douglas, is an amazing guide with many years of experience in Tanzanian wildlife & parks. He is an exceptionally safe driver - we always felt comfortable & confident in the Land Cruiser. Every morning we found the truck to be clean & well serviced - so important on those rough, dusty roads of the parks. We loved hearing his stories about the wildlife & Tanzanian culture - he was able to answer every question, providing a rich & informative experience. We especially loved that he shared his personal stories about his life & family - it made us feel that he trusted us too. He has the most wonderful smile & cheerful attitude. He worked so hard all day with only our interests in mind. We felt his joy as he experienced our's. Also - he is very friendly & we could see the friendship he shared with the other guides. This was important for us as the guides are thus willing to share the location of wildlife in the parks. Douglas is an incredible guide, so amazing to just watch how he approached the wildlife. He knows the wildlife behavior so well that we watched in awe as he positioned the truck in just the right spot for us to get an up close view. With his years of experience he knows the park habitats so well he could anticipate what we would find. He would gently change the position of the truck to give us ample viewing & photo time. Though we were not expecting to go to the northern Serengeti, Meru Slopes offered to change our itinerary because the tail end of the Great Migration was still active. The change gave us the opportunity to see the incredible behavior of the zebra & wildebeest as they nervously approached various Mara River shore options. Douglas was patient yet responsive to changing our location as the herds changed their's. All of our lodging & meals exceeded our expectations. We had fabulous service, comfortable rooms, and healthy tasty meals. This was the first safari for my husband & it was a special delight for me to see how thrilled he was with the safari. I've been on many safaris and was equally thrilled. We were on the 9-Night Northern Circuit safari

Amazing - We have just experienced an exceptional African adventure thanks to Meru Slopes and Samuel our Guide. Samuel that we highly recommend made us discover a land unknown to us. he knew with patience, gentleness and kindness to make us live moments of great emotions. A 7-day walk with perfect organization took us from Tarangire National Park through Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater. Animal diversity, diversity of landscapes only happiness. The accommodation conditions were in line with our expectations and the meals excellent. Samuel in Super Guide speaking good French allowed us to tick the 5 boxes of the big five. The organizer arranged a transfer from Arusha Airport and a night's stay in Arusha, both of which went seamlessly. The entire coordination was overseen by Manager Almatchius, providing a reliable point of contact for organizational queries. The 5-day safari across Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater was a truly unique experience. Our guide, Florian, proved to be experienced, professional, and adept at answering all our questions. The camps were distinctive, and with a chef accompanying us throughout, we enjoyed consistently delicious meals. Safari Bucket List Perfection! - What an amazing experience! I can't say enough good things about the 5-Day Northern Tanzania Safari tour, from the moment we were picked up from the airport until we were dropped off at our hotel at the end of five incredible days, it was well organized and perfect! We toured Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park. We felt we were given the best experience in each of the locations and luckily for us, we had Freddy as our A+, top-notch, first-rate driver and tour guide. Freddy knew where to go to have the best opportunity to see animals and his eagle eye spotted elusive animals we wouldn't have otherwise seen on our own. Because of Freddy's efforts, we were able to see the Big Five, which was amazing! Freddy was not only very knowledgeable in all the animals we saw, he could also identify birds and trees and gave his interesting tidbits of information on all of them. After spending five days with him, we considered him to be our friend and he treated us like friends. He was funny, kind, engaging and just a total joy to be with. If Freddy sees this or is told about this review (and I hope he is), please tell him that Tom Kat says Hi! Two of the nights we were on safari were spent in tents. The camp was always set up and ready for our arrival. The only suggestion I would make is that in your listing for the camping tours, perhaps you could provide a list of what the guests should bring. We were not aware that we should bring our own towel and I would have brought a small pillow had I known none were provided. Those are very small concerns in relation to how many moving parts there are in making this happen for so many people. The meals were wonderful! I was flabbergasted at how many items and how good everything was considering we were camping! Our chef was Ash and he was awesome! If you are reading this review as a potential buyer and you will be going to the Ngorongoro Crater, bring warm clothes! Fortunately, I had asked in advance what the weather would be and brought warm clothes but could have brought even warmer items. Camping on the Ngorongoro Crater Rim is very cold. There were several people in shorts because they didn't know it was going to be so cold. So come prepared! Perhaps, this is another thing that could be included in the tour listing so people know how to pack. Going on a safari is for most people a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm so glad I chose Meru Slopes for the company to organize our safari. It couldn't have gone better! Thank you! Greg and Janice

5 days safari - We had an incredible 5 days safari tour with Meru Slopes! Our guide and driver Saleh was excellent. He managed to show us rare animals like cheetas or leopards. He drove safely and was well organized. Our chef Gadi prepared us delicious food. We slept in lodge accoodation, everything was great. Special mention for the Heritage tented lodge in Serengeti who was just awesome! Mr Nassari was very attentive to our needs and adapted the tour for us. Thanks to you all, it was an incredible experience!
