Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Early in the morning, your driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive for two hours to the gates of Tarangire National Park. Here, you’ll embark on a full day of game drives with a packed lunch. You’ll stop at a picnic site for lunch before continuing your game drive. Spanning nearly 2800 sq km, Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant populations and iconic baobab trees. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which flows through it. During the dry season (June – November), the park’s wildlife concentrations are comparable to those of the Serengeti, as many animals, including large herds of elephants, gather around the river for water. With its diverse habitats and the permanent water source of the Tarangire River, the park hosts over 2000 elephants and 500 bird species. In the late afternoon, you’ll leave the park and drive to Kizumba campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, you’ll head to the Serengeti, passing through Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descending into the heart of the Serengeti’s endless plains. You’ll then proceed to the Seronera area, one of the park’s richest wildlife habitats, with the Seronera River providing a vital water source. After lunch, you’ll enjoy a sunset drive to the Seronera campsite. The great wildebeest migration, a spectacular annual event, is best witnessed from June to September in the northern Serengeti, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River in search of pasture.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, you’ll embark on a full day of game drives in the Serengeti. Your guide will ensure you witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. This annual event is best observed from June to September in the northern Serengeti, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River in search of pasture. After the game drive, you’ll exit the Serengeti and head to Simba campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from the camp and driven to the Ngorongoro Crater. You’ll descend into the crater with picnic lunch boxes for a game drive. Often referred to as the eighth natural wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest intact crater globally. Formed about 2 million years ago when the Ngorongoro volcano erupted and its walls collapsed, the crater now spans over 19 kilometers and features diverse habitats, including acacia forests, hippo-filled swamps, and open grasslands. These habitats are home to over 30,000 animals, including elephants, warthogs, flamingos, a variety of bird species, the rare black rhinoceros, and all predatory cats. The Maasai people can also be seen grazing their cattle alongside buffalo and wildebeest.
Lake Manyara back to Arusha
Lake Manyara National Park - Situated at the base of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its tree-climbing lions and vibrant flocks of flamingos attracted by the high algae content. You’ll enjoy a six-hour game drive with a packed lunch, stopping at a picnic site by a hippo lake to eat while observing the hippos. After the game drive, you’ll be transferred back to Arusha town.
