(along with the best of the best team!!) We chose to hike Kilimanjaro with Nafika tours due to their amazing reviews and being a local company, and they did not disappoint. From the start, everything was very well organised, we had so much detail about the trek itself, packing list, food menu and a meeting with the guides to check out gear before the trip. Once on the mountain, the team kept us motivated through the harder parts of the trek, even through the torrential rain/hail/snow, they kept us going! Our porters rushed past us everyday to make sure our tent was ready and there was hot tea and snacks waiting for us to arrive, they are absolutely amazing and couldn’t have asked for a better team! A special thanks to our waiter David & Chef who made sure we had tasty food, full water bottles and comfortable nights in the tent. Everyone was so friendly and always smiling/singing/laughing! Pre-Departure Preparations We arrived late at night after a long immigration process and were warmly welcomed by our tour guide, Innocent. During the comfortable ride to our hotel, he gave us an overview of what to expect and checked our equipment upon arrival. By the next day, everything we needed and missing equipment was in place and ready for the journey, including grabbing a local internet SIM card along the way. 2. Tour Guide Experience Innocent was the key to our success from start to finish. Every day, he would brief us on the challenges ahead, provide tips on what to pack, check our equipment, and recommend appropriate clothing based on the weather. These insights proved invaluable. During the hike, he frequently shared his personal experiences and offered advice to help us overcome physical and mental challenges. His assistance, whether offering a helping hand or encouraging us with positive energy, was crucial. This was especially true on summit day, where his optimism and support inspired us to push through every obstacle. We laughed, talked, and stayed motivated, all thanks to his patience. 3. Porter Crew The porter crew was friendly, incredibly strong, and kind. Over the days, we grew closer to them and were always greeted warmly at the end of each leg of the hike. Watching them help us with our bags and welcoming us during the finally stretch of the day was humbling, especially when we were exhausted or feeling unwell due to the altitude. When we reached each campsite, everything was already set up: tents pitched, hot tea ready, and all essentials in place. Their service allowed us to rest and recover quickly while providing much-needed comfort in the harsh mountain environment. 4. Food The chef tailored meals to meet our needs. Although we had prepared some of our own food, the meals provided far exceeded our expectations. Each day, the menu was slightly different. On colder days, we were served warm soups, and after longer hikes, meals were packed with protein and carbs. Every meal included fresh fruit, and the variety, portions, nutrition, and temperature were consistently perfect. 5. Summit Day On summit day, the crew prepared everything we needed, including emergency oxygen. Our guide, Innocent, also suggested an extra porter, which proved to be a great decision. The weather conditions became extremely harsh, and I’ll never forget the moment they served us hot sweet ginger tea along the way. That warmth and energy boost were a true luxury in such tough conditions. The crew stayed close to us the entire time, ensuring our safety and giving physical, emotional support. we reached the summit after an exhausting 8-hour trek. The return trip was equally exhausting, please be prepared as we were totally burn out and required a lot of the help from the porter and our guide. They helped us massively to reach back to the base camp safe and sound. Conclusion For those comparing different tours, we can confidently say that Nafika Tours is one of the best and most trustworthy teams you’ll find. This journey was both unique and challenging, but with your amazing team, I made it to the top. I took the 6-day Machame route, led by our senior guide Eli and assistant guide Diclan. Our group of four was supported by a wonderful team who made this adventure unforgettable. I’m very proud all we made to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. Chef Jonathan kept us going with three delicious, hearty meals every day—something I never thought possible in those conditions! Each meal was both tasty and energizing. Our waiter, Efata, was so polite and attentive, bringing me coffee and tea every morning right to my tent. I already miss those wake-up moments! I especially want to thank Diclan, our assistant guide, who went above and beyond to support each of us. His professionalism, care, and attention to detail were remarkable. His English was excellent, and his medical advice was always on point. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and truly in tune with our needs. For me, Diclan was a true lifeline. During the summit climb, I struggled with altitude sickness and even vomited a few times. I felt drained and close to giving up, but Diclan stayed with me through every step. He encouraged me, supported me, and even helped clean me up when I was unwell. I’ve never experienced such genuine care; without him, I don’t think I would’ve made it to the top. Even as a first-timer with no serious hiking experience, I reached the summit because of Nafika Tours’ incredible team. Diclan is more than ready to be a senior guide. Best hiking experience with Nafika tours - It’s been 2 weeks since I came back from Tanzania but I am still dreaming about the journey I had in Kilimanjaro. Prior of the trip, I contacted and asked many questions because it was my first time to Africa and also attempting the tallest mountain in Africa. Elias gave all positive answers and tried to accommodate all of my requests. I even asked to change my accommodation at the last mins and he made it happen. I didn’t have Tanzanian mobile number and when I finally got the internet connection, I found out he tried to reach out to inform that driver was ready and waited for me at the airport. These little details made me very comfortable even before my hiking begins. During the hiking, we were 7 hikers in our group so we had pretty big crew with us. We had 3 guides who leaded us to the top. All of them were very experienced and took special care to make all of us successfully make to the summit. I was only person who signed up for 6 days route instead of 7 days of Machame route in our team. I had to be separated from others and made summit with smaller crews last 2 days. Goodchance was my guide for the rest of journey. I had a problem with my headlight from the beginning of summiting. The batteries I put in the head lantern was not working and the light was on and off. Goodchance asked every single person who were descending, we finally got new batteries from random people at the middle of night and the problem solved. It would been so much difficult if I had to use not the proper lantern for the summit night. The chef, waiters and porters were very friendly and help us to be as comfortable as we could on the mountain. One day they asked what our favorite food were, I said ‘Pizza’ and they actually made pizza in the middle of nowhere 3800m high on the mountain. I am still curious how they made the pizza. They also prepared very delicious traditional Chaga soup with bananas and veggies. None of us could ever lose our appetite in the high altitude. These were little things how Nafika Tours made us feel like home while we hiked the tallest mountain in Africa. They were professional for their job so we could make thing possible. I think these things make Nafika special and different from others. Choosing Nafika tour was the best choice I made for the Kilimanjaro hiking. I can highly recommend Nafika to my friends and family if they will do Kilimanjaro hiking.

Trip of a lifetime - This was without a doubt the best thing I have ever done in my life. The hike, mountain and reaching the summit was incredible but what made it truly special was our fantastic team of guides and porters, I will genuinely never forget them and their kindness to us, particularly to my husband when he got terrible altitude sickness. I was a bit apprehensive before we arrived as I haven't done anything like this before and haven't camped for years but I would do it again tomorrow if I could, our porters always picked the best spot in the campsite for us, we had so much amazing fresh food I could barely eat it all and Sebastian our main guide was always making sure we were drinking enough water, our pace was okay and kept us motivated blasting his radio on long uphill sections. I would recommend Nafika to anyone, Elias was amazing with the whole booking system, answering all my annoying questions on whatsapp within a few hours and he tailor made the trip to suit us all with two weeks notice of our arrival.

Amazing Kilimanjaro Adventure with the local people!! - Nafika Tours was professional and delivered everything they promised. We fully recommend using their services. Despite our thorough physical and mental preparations, nothing could replace the real experience, which turned out to be more challenging than we anticipated. However, Nafika Tours put together a fantastic team of experienced professionals who truly cared for us. With a support team of 21 porters and guides, they reinforced our belief that we could reach the top. Head guide Eli is an outstanding guide and human being, who we trusted completely. He made us feel relaxed and confident by taking care of everything, including daily medical checks and providing much-needed mental support. A true leader and team player, Eli brought us safely to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro and even carried my backpack when I felt unwell. At Uhuru Peak, he quickly took action to bring me down safely, ensuring my well-being. Alongside assistant guide Tony, and with the support of cook Priva, waiter Frank, and all the porters, we felt almost as if we were lifted to the top. When we returned to base camp after successfully reaching the Roof of Africa, the team welcomed us with singing and cheers, which truly melted our hearts. If we ever return to Tanzania to hike Mount Meru, we'll definitely work with Nafika Tours again and request this same team to join us on the journey. Everything went according to the proposed travel plans. And be sure to add the flush portable toilet to your hike—it’s a small extra that will make your trek much more comfortable. It's a lovely experience. - We walked the Machame Directions for 6 days and 5 nights. Everyone in the team was amazing and the food was delicious every day.
