Arrival – Transfer to Hotel

Arusha Region - Begin your enchanting holiday by boarding your flight to Tanzania, the heart of an African Safari. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, complete customs and immigration procedures where a representative from Gilmag Safaris will be ready to greet you. You will then be driven to Arusha City for dinner and an overnight stay at Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge. A briefing about your upcoming safari will be provided at the lodge.

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, your private tour guide will pick you up and drive you to Tarangire National Park (approximately 125 kilometers from Arusha City) with a packed lunch to start your game viewing adventure. Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the Tarangire River, followed by an afternoon game drive. Among the thousands of Baobab trees that dot the landscape, you will witness Tanzania’s largest concentration of elephants. In addition to elephants, leopards, ostriches, lions, warthogs, zebras, and cheetahs are commonly seen in Tarangire. If fortunate, you may encounter the endangered wild dog. As this park is slightly off the main safari route, many travelers skip it in favor of closer parks, leaving much of Tarangire untouched. Around 4:30 PM, exit the park and drive to Kitela Lodge in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Serengeti National Park

Ngorongoro Crater - After an early breakfast (6:00 AM), depart the lodge with lunch boxes and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend 600 meters into the crater and spend the day exploring its rich flora and fauna on the crater floor, known as the 8th wonder of the world. This is the best place to encounter the endangered black rhino and flamingos in Lake Magadi. Other animals include Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, warthogs, hippos, zebras, waterbucks, hyenas, jackals, and if lucky, lions resting by your vehicle for shade. In the evening around 3 PM, ascend the crater, exit the park, and drive to Central Serengeti for dinner and an overnight stay at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge.

Full Day in Central Serengeti

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, leave the lodge with lunch boxes and enjoy a full day game drive in Serengeti National Park, covering as much area as possible. The wildebeest migration typically passes through the area in April, May, and November, but the Seronera area is accessible to both the southern plains and the Mara River in the North. The resident game in the area is remarkable, with species such as elephants, buffalo, gazelles, zebras, lions, and a variety of other predators and herbivores visible year-round. Explore the diverse habitats, including swamps, woodlands, soda lakes, and the world-famous Serengeti short grass plains. Witness great herds of wildebeest and zebra. Later in the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Serengeti National Park – Karatu Area

Karatu - After an early breakfast, depart the lodge with lunch boxes for a half-day game viewing in Serengeti. In the afternoon, exit the park and drive to Karatu via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at Kitela Lodge in time for dinner and an overnight stay.

Manyara National Park – Kilimanjaro International Airport

Lake Manyara National Park - After an early breakfast, depart the lodge with lunch boxes and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing. This park is renowned for its vast soda lake filled with pink-hued flamingos, a large population of baboons, incredible birdlife, and breathtaking views. Here, you can see elephants, giraffes, hippos, impalas, dik-diks, waterbucks, flamingos, and monkeys. You may also encounter the rare tree-climbing lions and leopards. There are over 500 species of birds in this park. After a full day of game viewing, exit the park and drive back to Arusha for drop-off at Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your flight to your next destination.
