Moshi to Lake Manyara
Lake Manyara - Begin the journey from Moshi with a transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge or campsite, followed by an afternoon game drive in the park. This national park is one of Tanzania’s most stunningly situated wildlife areas, featuring a vast but shallow soda lake that covers two-thirds of the park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.
The park’s diverse habitat attracts a wide range of animals, including one of Africa’s largest populations of elephants, Lake Manyara’s distinctive tree-climbing lions, and large flocks of flamingos drawn by the lake’s algae.
Lake Manyara to Serengeti Plains
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, travel towards the Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic highland farms of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend from the highlands into the heart of wild Africa - the Serengeti National Park - with its endless plains stretching as far as the eye can see.
Proceed to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the park’s richest wildlife habitats, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a crucial water source and attracts a wide variety of wildlife representative of the Serengeti’s species.
Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - Experience the unique opportunity to float in a Hot Air Balloon over the Serengeti Plains (available at an additional cost with prior arrangement). Glide silently above the awakening bush, spotting wildlife and taking in the breathtaking African scenery, crossing rivers and numerous small villages.
After breakfast, embark on a game viewing drive along the Sogore River Circuit, which loops into the plains south of the Seronera River, offering potential sightings of lions, Thomson gazelles, topis, ostriches, and cheetahs. The Visitor Centre near the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites is worth visiting after the morning game drive.
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast at the lodge, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stop at Olduvai Gorge, a site with a history dating back to the dawn of time. It was here that anthropologists Drs. Lois and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of ‘Nutcracker Man’ and ‘Handy Man’, both significant links in the chain of human evolution.
Arrive in time for lunch at the lodge and relax. Dinner and overnight stay as per the chosen accommodation option.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast, descend 600m into this magnificent crater for a full-day game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely populated African wildlife areas in the world, home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast array of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants.
Another major attraction of this picturesque national park is its large population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor.
Dinner and overnight stay as per the chosen accommodation option on the crater rim, as there is no accommodation available inside the crater.
Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. The park runs along the Tarangire River and is primarily composed of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with large swamp areas in the south. Both the river and the swamps attract wildlife during Tanzania’s dry season.
Tarangire National Park is renowned for having some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. This national park is also home to three rare animal species - the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, and a few Ashy Starlings. After a picnic lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive.
Dinner and overnight stay in the Tarangire National Park area, as per the chosen accommodation option.
Tarangire National Park to Moshi
Tarangire National Park - Enjoy an early morning game drive in Tarangire National Park, followed by breakfast at the lodge. Then, transfer back to Moshi or alternatively to the airport.
Upon arrival in Moshi, have a late lunch and conclude the African safari adventure. Guests will be taken to their hotel, marking the end of the safari services.
