Amazing Arusha National Park daytour with Norah and Happy - I had a great full day with Norah and Happy. These 2 ladies we super friendly guides and took me on a day trip to Arusha National park. HIGHLY recommend Norah and Happy for their animal and nature knowledge, friendliness and enthusiasm. Happy is a great photographer. I was on a business trip with one day to spare. At the end of the day I still wanted to get some souvenirs for my family. They helped me by taking me to a local market, negotiating and we even had dinner together at a local restaurant. They even drove me to my hotel to get my luggage and dropped me at the airport. I really appreciate your additional effort and care. I had an amazing day. I would say Arusha super experience. Thank you Norah and Happy!

A day trip - The one-day safari was as it said on the tin. The guide knew his trade (he went to university for learning that specialty), and there was little or nothing amiss. This resulted in a great day, seeing what was to be seen.

We saw buffalos, many giraffes, colobus monkeys, warthogs in a wonderful landscape with Mount Meru in the distance. The packed lunch was delicious and the guide very helpful. Pick up from and drop off at Hotel was punctual Good Landcruiser Safari vehicle. Value for money was good.

4 day trip with Rupia - We are eight people making a four day trip to Tansania with Rupia Adventure. Arusha, Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Lake Eyasi, a visit by the bushmen. The Safaris were organised very well. We have seen without the leopard all big animals, elephants in a distance of around one meter. Ist was really beautiful. The only thing you should take care for with Rupia are accommadations. The Banana Eco Farm is a wonderful place, easy, clean and you get really good food, but it is more a place for backpackers and people, who like it simple. On tour we are staying one night at the Kizumba Camp. And this is really for backpackers, young people. Two toilets and two bathrooms for women and mens - difficult for some people. Food was good, the view wonderful! But honest Mathias found for us an other for us perfect Logde, the Sunbright Logde!!! The guides were very friendly, helpful, the service and food on the safaris was good, we get the food in tupperware, very ecological!! A great thanks to our drivers, they were making a great job, with knowledge about the animals, people of Tanzania and they can really good drive!! Thanks from Brigitte, Gernot and the rest of the crew

Arusha NP - My guide was great, the part that wasn’t great were the additional people who were not fellow tourists. I was picked up by three men (I’m a solid female traveler so this was uncomfortable) one of whom was my guide, one appeared to be a friend of my guide and another person who appeared to be apart of the company. Once I paid in cash (my review was canceled on trip advisor and I had to pay in cash which also made me feel uncomfortable) we dropped the third man off at a random location. I knew the second was not a fellow tourist because he went in to a resultant to get our lunch. He was also not a guide because he sat in the back with me and didn’t provide much insight on the park. As I mentioned by guide was super nice and friendly, and I would definitely recommend him. Additionally, despite me telling the person contacting me that I would write my review upon getting home and had time. I received multiple follow up text messages asking about my review. This was unprofessional because I was trying to enjoy the tour I was currently on, and I very clearly stated I would do the review when I had time. Also, the tour itself states that covid precautions would be followed (temperature checks etc) none of this was done. This did not effect me, but some people this might bother hence why I’m including it.

Experience with Rupa Adventure Tour Company - The tour itself and the tour guide are very good. No issues and otherwise enjoyable. This company Rupia Adventures, is small newly established company with two safari cars only as they told us, with hard working as he seems the owner Mr. Matt. However, his method of micro-management and imposing his detailed instructions & worries not only on his staff but also on the customers makes everybody the staff and especially the customers feel like they came actually to summer camp and he is sort of school manager from the eighties who controls everything. Beside that attitude, there are some other issues that pertain to the accuracy of quotation, accuracy of service delivery (example is airport transfer) transparency, and professionality. Activities & services were taken as separate daily tours but paid all in advance and the hotel in Arusha is arranged by us except one night between the days of Tarangire Patk & Ngorongoro Tour they booked additional hotel for us just to save the trip back to Arusha. - we get to know about the company just from airport transfer reservation (from viator and the reservation was for a comfortable van) when Matt wrote to us asking if we need to consider tours also with them. I told him that we had quotations already and almost decided but we can consider. I sent him the required tours. - He replied with quotation but as package price for all days without breakdown and without per-person details. I asked him to show the safari car as separate daily rate if possible and the rest he can show as per-person. He didn't say that it is not possible, he just re-distributed the numbers in someway for the total to be the same. I came to know he did that because in one of the days when there was possibility one activity might not be possible because of probable rain, so when I asked him to refund he came up with totally different amount for that activity different from the quotation numbers. - They came to pick us up from kiliminjaro airport after a tiring trip from Dubai to Dar Es salaam then Dar Es Salaam to kiliminjaro airport in a Safari car (we reserved comfortable van for this transfer !!!!! can they understand it is not same comfort ?). It was very uncomfortable trip to be honest after the long flights. Instead of being received by only airport transfer driver and have calm environment to relax till we reach hotel and rest, instead there was Matt himself, and two other colleagues who we never saw after that, so what is the relevance for them to be in this transfer ? who knows ? why Matt is so keen to discuss again same agreed details from before with tired passengers from long flights ? why he must come by himself to take the money as he insisted we bring cash with us ?. All this gives you some indications about lack of professionality as travel agent, lack of real concern about comfort details for passengers instead of silly details, lack of trust in his own employees. - Next day (day 2), it was for kiliminjaro hike. Very early morning he sent me message reminding me of the pick-up time, I told him I am aware but will need kindly 15 more minutes as we expect to run late because of being tired from previous day. Can you imagine what was his reply to me as customer : "why ?". He started to blame because of advance request from me for 15 minutes delay. Then again he came in person in the morning, we met him and his your guide 15 minutes late as we told him in advance, he was very worried, I told him Matt it is ok, we are not going for championship in hiking, we just want to enjoy and it is only 15 minutes, we will not miss anything and if we miss we are responsible and we are ok with it. That was the ONLY day we met him or his driver later than scheduled, and yet he continued to have that over worry everyday that we will be late and he has send us reminder messages very early mornings "please make sure to be on time, don't be late" can you imagine that !!!!! It is the school manager mentality although he is a young man. - Day 5 : Arusha Park, he sent me his usual message from the very early morning and he has one more reason to worry about that day, he said you might not be able to do walking safari (we reserved & paid for) because rain is expected. So I told him, till now weather is clear and we don't worry about that. He said no but it would be difficult if it rains, mud will be there. So I told him, ok if that happens we will cancel and you can refund. So he started to be worried about refund, I told him the amount for that activity is clear in the quotation, then he mentioned lower number only that number is value of this activity and they paid it to park already so it will be difficult to refund. Then we met him in the morning as scheduled (everyday he insists to come and meet in lobby before we go on ourselves with the guide) with the very good guide for that day, he told us to check and decide if we want to do the walking tour before we reach the ticket office of park in order for the guide to know how much she would pay at the ticket office. At this point I was confused has he paid already and difficult to refund, or haven't he paid yet or what ? and why to worry about all that while it is obvoius while we are in the hotel lobby that it is sunny !!!!! anyway, we told him don't worry, we will manage. and we left him at the hotel lobby and proceeded with the safari car to the park. We asked the guide on the way, is there anything to worry about walking tour while it is this sunny, she said she is almost sure walking tour would be possible on that day. So why all this worry and hassle from their manager, we don't know. It is like creating problem from nothing almost. - Be prepared after coming exhausted to hotel everyday from each tour to receive messages from Matt asking if tour is ok, if you say ok, then you will get bombarded with links in your phone whatsapp with pages in tripadvisor and following up with you to "do your homework" and post the review for today. He kept chasing me until I reached UAE asking why I didn't post any review. Then after few days he put all links in one whatsapp message and expressed being upset as I haven't posted any review yet and asked me to forward the links to my colleague in the trip !!!!!. All the tours were successful (Only Tagarine Park not much animals at that period of year, and that is obviously not the fault of the company). All tour guides are polite, knowledgable and friendly. If there is any suggestion for Mr. Matt the owner, just to try to be less involved directly with the customers. Ideally, arrange a manager staff who is familiar with professional management & tools for quotations, accounts, dispatch of tour drivers, dealing with customer overall experience, comfort and satisfaction in a professional way. Everything else in the company I guess is in the correct direction to improve and accumulate more experience.
