Arrive at Kibo around mid-afternoon, relax, have dinner, and prepare for the summit climb around midnight.

Gradually ascend over rocky outcrops through scree to reach the crater rim at Gillman’s Point. The hardest part of the climb is over, with only about 2 hours to the summit - Uhuru Peak - where the view is truly exhilarating. Celebrate at the summit, then descend to Horombo for the night.
