Fantastic 1 day safari - What a lovely day! Driver arrived on time to collect us from our hotel at 5am in Zanzibar, his car was clean and had aircon (perfect for return trip). We only had 8 days, so wanted to do a 1-day safari, Israel was our tour guide and he was fantastic! His English was good, he was knowledgeable and he was just lovely & super helpful. Israel worked hard to ensure we saw lions close up, zebras, giraffes, elephants, crocodiles, hippopotamuses and a python, and other animals! Lunch provided, varied options for all tastes. Highly recommend 👌🏽

Mikum Safari - The experience from beginning to end was amazing. We were kicked up at the time we were instructed, driven to the airport, and was greeted by guides at the terminal who walked us through the process and provided airline tickets. The Pelican 13 seat plane was a smooth take off and landing. We met Frank, our Safari tour guide, who was knowledgeable, professional, and an awesome guide. The lunch provided was completely unexpected but welcomed. The entire safari experience was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend!

Amazing Experience! - We had such a great time! Our hosts were so nice and knowledgeable. We saw at least 12 different animal, including lions, which was unusual in the dry season. Afterwards, we had lunch and everyone was so nice! One of the ladies in our group had her birthday that day and they sang happy birthday to her and gave us champagne to celebrate. It truly was an awesome experience.

Best Birthday Trip - Great experience and our tour guides were amazing. We saw giraffes, lions, hippos, antelopes, elephants, wildebeest, and the birds were beautiful.

An experience of a lifetime - An awesome once of a lifetime experience! We saw zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions and their cubs. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and went out of his way to be sure that we saw the animals. I would highly recommend this tour!

A great way to experience safari on a limited time! - This was a great choice during our trip to Zanzibar. We traveled as a family of four, with two teenage kids. Waking up at 5.00am to catch the plane to Mikumi Park was definitely worth it. The pick-up was done on time, the communication throughout was excellent, the lunch was tasty, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Although there is no guarantee that you see all the big animals, We did see zebras, elephants, lions, hippos, and crocodiles. While you won't see as many animals as you would during a multi-day safari in the Serengeti, it is a great way to experience it on a very tight schedule.

Amazing, a bit short - Amazing experience. We saw all the animals we wanted to see (elephant, lion, giraffe, leopard...). The guide and driver know these lands well. Only one small downside, a little short on site for a so-called "day": 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Great day, not to be missed if you are in the area!! - It was a beautiful day! Lots seen, lunch well provided and a nice tour guide. Only pity that there were French people in the jeep who thought that world revolves around them. The organization could not help it, only the jeepguide did almost everything in French and sometimes only in English. Also, the tour certainly did not last 8 hours and we went back with her plane at 2 pm, while the schedule was only that we were going to fly at 4 pm.

Amazing - but not for everyone! - Let me start by saying that we had a blast. My friend and I enjoyed the trip to its fullest! However, since we noticed some of our fellow travelers panicking during our adventure, there are a few things I would like to point out to help future travelers be prepared. These comments are based on our trip in June 2024. The Organization: We were picked up on time at our resort. However, when we arrived at the airport, they couldn't find our reservation. Our names were nowhere to be found, but after a bit of time, we were given our boarding passes and were able to board the flight. The Plane: You will fly on an old Cessna with just a pilot and no copilot. Most of the seatbelts are not functional. The tires of the aircraft were bald—completely bald! Upon landing at the strip, note that for ladies, the bathroom has no paper and no soap was available at the sink either. Oh, and remember they couldn’t find our names at the airport? They couldn’t find our names at the strip either, so they just placed us on one of the trucks. Not a big deal, but just keep that in mind! The Trucks: These trucks are old and have taken a beating over the years! Be prepared for not-so-comfortable seats and some fume smells. The food provided was very basic with limited options. The Safari: Safaris are an experience. You will drive around looking for animals in their natural habitat. There are no guaranteed sightings! We spent hours trying to find lions or leopards and never did. We even ended up in a ditch, which was a very exciting experience for my friend and me, but our fellow travelers did not enjoy it as much. The Views: The views are amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and attentive, and the weather was perfect. If you want to just see the animals and not drive around through tough terrain, this is not for you. Visit Animal Kingdom at Disney in Florida for that kind of experience. Hope this helps!
