The Lemosho Route is a fantastic choice for a seven-day Kilimanjaro climb. This route provides ample opportunities to adjust to the altitude and offers a stunning panoramic view of the mountain as it crosses it from west to east. The western entry point necessitates a slightly longer drive, but it’s entirely worthwhile thanks to the chance of passing through untamed terrain and potentially spotting buffalo or elephants. The initial part of the hike involves climbing the rarely visited western side of the mountain, moving from the lower forest regions to the Shira Plateau. Trekkers take a break here in the afternoon, gearing up for a midnight trek to the top. The journey to the edge of the crater takes six hours, followed by another hour moving around the edge to reach the Uhuru Peak — the culmination of the climb and the highest point in Africa.
