Start your journey from Arusha or Moshi. The Northern Circuit is the latest and longest route on Mount Kilimanjaro.
This route begins in the west at the Londorossi Gate and initially follows the same path as the Lemosho route for the first two days. After traversing the Shira plateau, the trail diverges north near Lava Tower, opting for the extended Northern Circuit instead of the more frequented Southern Circuit through Barranco Valley. The path encircles the quieter northern slopes, leading to the eastern side of the mountain.
The Northern Circuit is longer than other Kilimanjaro trails, requiring at least eight or nine days to complete. The eight-day trek omits the extra acclimatization day typically spent at Shira Camp 2, proceeding directly to Moir Camp.
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to Parkview Inn Hotel, Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel, or any pre-arranged accommodation in Moshi town. Here, you will meet your guide, who will provide a briefing on your upcoming trek and conduct an equipment check to ensure you have all the necessary mountain gear. Any missing gear can be rented on this day. Enjoy an overnight stay at your arranged hotel.
