Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park with an en-route game drive, picnic lunch, and an afternoon short game drive in Serengeti Park. Witness the vastness of the Serengeti, stretching to the horizon, teeming with wildebeests, zebras, and possibly the largest collection of lions in Africa.
Unlimited game drives offer the chance to discover the Serengeti’s diverse wildlife including topi, hartebeest, and waterbuck.
Serengeti National Park Full Day
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, spend a full day in Serengeti National Park with early morning, mid-morning, and afternoon game drives. All meals and overnight stay at Seronera Campsite.
Serengeti is Tanzania’s most famous national park and the largest, covering 14,763 square kilometers of protected area bordering Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park. The park is renowned for the Migration, where over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras move south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains in October and November, then head west and north after the long rains in April, May, and June.
The ancient instinct to migrate is so strong that no drought, gorge, or crocodile-infested river can stop them. The wildebeest travel through various parks, reserves, and protected areas, experiencing different habitats. Join us to explore the diverse vegetation and landscapes of the Serengeti ecosystem and meet some of its most fascinating inhabitants.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Early morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, brunch, and depart for Ngorongoro Crater Rim with an en-route game drive. Arrive at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast volcanic caldera of 263 sq km (101 sq mi), isolated from the rest of Africa. The world’s largest intact crater is a unique ecosystem of grassland, swamp, and woodlands, home to tens of thousands of animals.
Our 4x4 Jeep will carefully navigate the steep descent down the crater wall into this magnificent ecosystem.
The crater is inhabited by a variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, buffalo, black rhinos, zebras, antelopes, and birdlife such as pink flamingoes.
Enjoy lunch in this rich environment, marveling at the abundance of wildlife in this special place.
As late afternoon approaches, ascend the crater wall for another African surprise, a signature Ngorongoro sunset.
Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire
Tarangire National Park - Early breakfast, descend into the Crater floor for a game drive, lunch at the hippo pool picnic site, ascend to the rim, and depart.
The Ngorongoro Crater is often called ‘Africa’s Eden’ and the ‘8th Natural Wonder of the World.’ A visit to the crater is a major attraction for tourists coming to Tanzania. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is home to the Ngorongoro Crater, formed about 2.5 million years ago from a volcanic mountain sinking due to inactivity, initially thought to be higher than Tanzania’s famous Kilimanjaro.
The crater has evolved into a unique and integral part of Tanzania’s ecosystem. It is actually a caldera, measuring 22.5 km across with rim walls standing 600m high. Views from within and from the rim are breathtaking. The crater houses 30,000 animals and a large variety of birds, which rarely move from the area due to the availability of water throughout the wet and dry seasons.
Tarangire to Arusha
Arusha - Take an early breakfast then proceed for morning game drives at Tarangire National Park. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the way, then drive to Arusha to arrive by 16:00 hrs where the safari ends.
