Lido Mazzaro - MAZZARO BAY
In just 10 minutes from Taormina, you can visit Mazzarò beach, located in an enchanting cove where nature dominates the landscape and the sea shines with turquoise and emerald reflections.
It has always been a favorite among the locals, ever since Mazzarò was a tiny fishing village. Practically at the arrival of the cable car, it is considered the most elegant of Taormina’s beaches, overlooking some of the most luxurious hotels in the area.
But even if you are not staying in one of these resorts, don’t miss the chance to take a dip in the clear blue waters of this wonderful bay framed by the green and wild promontories of Capo Sant’Andrea and Capo Mazzarò, where caves and marine inlets can be explored with a mask and fins. Like the nearby Isola Bella, the beach here is made of pebbles and small stones, and you will find both beach clubs and free areas. -
Spisone - SPISONE BAY
Large boulders emerging from the sea here and there are the distinctive feature of Spisone beach, north of Taormina. Being close to the highway exit, it is easily accessible.
Spisone beach is located in the bay of Taormina, populated by many beach clubs but also some stretches of free beach. The stone islets emerging from the waters are very picturesque. The sand is made of pebbles and the seabed is varied. The most picturesque part is towards Capo Mazzarò, with sheer rocks and a narrow beach. -
Villagonia - VILLAGONIA BAY
One of the most convenient beaches to reach from the city center.
Villagonia beach is a true natural gulf, made of rock and gravel, located at the foot of Taormina, very close to the Taormina-Giardini train station.
It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily, with its white sand and clear sea, frequented by locals and tourists from all over the world. -
Porto baia delle sirene - SIRENS’ BAY
Sirens’ Bay is one of the best seaside locations in Taormina. Not easily visible from the outside because it is sheltered by a small promontory, it is a less crowded place.
The bay is very similar to a natural harbor where local fishermen take refuge. Inside, it is characterized by a very shallow seabed, making it highly visible, creating the perfect habitat for many marine species, particularly Posidonia, a marine plant rich in important properties for our sea’s ecosystem.
The stone islets emerging from the emerald-colored waters are very picturesque, making it an ideal place for snorkeling enthusiasts. -
Isola Bella - The bay nestled between Capo Taormina and Capo Sant’Andrea, with a precious pearl in the center, is aptly called “The Pearl of the Mediterranean.”
Covered with Mediterranean scrub and exotic essences, the enchanting islet is a lush botanical garden.
Sheltered by the two promontories, the beach is made of pebbles and stones. You can choose to settle comfortably in one of the equipped beach clubs with umbrellas and sunbeds or in the free beach area. The best and most peaceful spot is the small beach at the base of Isola Bella, where the play of light creates stunning changing colors in the water. Otherwise, the waters are clear and incredibly transparent, shallow, and dotted with rocks, making them ideal for swimming and snorkeling among seaweed and reef fish.
