Obi Wan Cannoli - A wonderful and unique experience learning how to make cannoli together with our two grandsons and their parents. Our teacher, Maurizio, was charming, patient and knowledgable. We learned the dos and don’ts and inherited Nonna’s recipe. We came away with more cannoli than we could eat. A really fun thing to do, especially on a rainy day.

From Sicily, with love: a new family tradition begins. - This was one of the most meaningful memories my daughter and I made together during our time in Sicily. With our Italian heritage—and having lost so many of our family recipes—we wanted to learn something we could bring home and turn into a new tradition. This class was exactly that and so much more. Maurizio is such a rare kind of host—kind, curious, genuinely joyful, and so clearly in love with what he does. You feel it from the moment you arrive. We lucked out and had a private class with just the two of us, which made the whole experience even more special. The rest of the staff at Ristorante Portamessina were just as welcoming—so warm and generous, it felt like we were immediately part of the family. Maurizio walked us step by step through making this beautiful, complicated pastry completely from scratch. What felt intimidating at first quickly became so fun and approachable with his guidance, and we left feeling totally confident we could recreate cannoli at home and make it part of our own family tradition. We stayed for lunch afterward, and it honestly couldn’t have been a more magical way to experience Taormina, which is every bit as special as people say—and somehow, even beyond that. If you're coming here, don’t miss this. It’s a memory we’ll carry forever.

Don’t miss out on a truly Italian experience! - Fun fun fun! Instructor was formerly from Texas so of course spoke perfect English. Informative instructions and tips. A very hands on class. Pasta making was great. Although he cooked the sauces you still saw how to close up and learned how to do it and got the recipes. Learned the skills to teach my book club to make pasta dinner next time I host. The men in the class had fun. The only con was that we were served so much food I had to cancel dinner at a restaurant I’d booked way in advance. Dessert was awesome and we were given more wine and limoncello than we could drink. Loved everything about this experience! A little hard to find so allow yourself time. Air conditioning was great and the class setup was roomy, well designed, and very professional.

Great experience in Taormina - Was such a fun immersive experience where we learnt in detail how to make cannoli and watch a true professional! We ended up with so many cannoli by the end we were eating them for a couple of days after! Very nice instructor who even sent us the recipe after so we can make them ourselves. Would definitely recommend
