Incredible views and beautiful tour! - The bus ride was actually longer than expected, around 1.5-2 hours before you take a longer break to go to the toilet, rent jackets and maybe get some snacks/drinks. However, the tour guide, with a pleasant voice, tells you quite a lot about Etna and what you can see on the way there. The jackets could be rented cheaply for 5 euros. Then you get into the jeep from around 1900m to 2900m. There are always stops on the way there, a bit of chatting and a bit of hiking - but the tour is not really strenuous. It should be mentioned that the guide did not have the microphone in front of his mouth very well, so you could not understand him very well. But he was still very friendly and always ready to explain things or answer questions. When we got to the top at sunset, the view was beautiful (see picture). After that we went to the restaurant (solid food) and then a pleasant journey back.

Brilliant sunset on Mount Etna. - The whole trip was perfectly organized and carried out. High respect for the drivers of the off-road vehicles. Aleksandra looked after the guests wonderfully. At the end, the host surprised me with a piece of cake and a drink at dinner because it was my birthday that day. Aleksandra is strongly suspected of having arranged something. 😏 Absolutely recommended. 😄👍👍👍

Breathtaking ! - This is one of the most amazing trips we've done ! Breathtaking views beyond compare and wonderful guides. I can't recommend this enough. Do take warm clothes though, and do be aware that there is a bit of hiking involved on shale and rocks. Thank you so much SAT group. This was incredible.

Lovely way to spend a half day! - The tour guide was amazing and very friendly. The tour was exactly as the company explained and the sunset views are incredible! They have many different pick up points so that's a plus! Maybe just bring a face mask in case the wind is blowing your way because it's quite ashy up there and it will make you cough but that is obviously up to you.

Beautiful Etna trip - Etna is a beautiful place, and being able to walk across the landscape, take in the views, and experience the sunset there is a special experience. Our guide did a good job, and even went out of his way to help a fellow traveler who had some issues with heights. Very kind. It is quite cold on Etna, so be sure to bundle up - certainly wear pants and more than a windbreaker. The restaurant at the bottom was quite good, better than I expected, with tasty pizza and an extensive local craft beer selection.

Wonderfully supportive SAT staff - We booked two tours through SAT while we were in Taormina. Frederico was incredibly helpful and supportive in providing guidance and accommodating our needs. The opportunity to be on Mount Etna was amazing. Our guide was knowledgeable and answered questions. I highly recommend SAT and their staff. Frederico worked very hard to ensure we had an enjoyable experience and we appreciate his flexibility.

Like being on the surface of the moon. - I gave the tour a 4 because 4.5 was not an option. We did the SAT tour yesterday evening and were fully familiar with what to expect. Collected by minibus on time, close to our hotel in Giardini Naxos, we made our way up the mountain via a vista point to a parking area where the normal road ends. Here, after a glass of vino and welcome toilet break, we, after a 45-minute break, transferred to a huge 4x4 jeep/coach with another group of people. We then made our way up the mountain by tracks forged in a 2002 lave flow, which destroyed a lot of the area, stopping off at various vantage points. Note that this is not suitable for those unsteady on their feet or with open footwear because the surface is very loose underfoot. The views, however, were amazing with interesting descriptions from the guide. Once we arrived at the highest plateau that we could by road/track, we witnessed a beautiful sunset, amazing views of Etna going into silhouette, and as dark fell, you could see spectacular minor eruptions from the highest of craters. A jacket is required as in resort it was 35 degrees, but at the top, I could see my breath. The return journey in darkness was interesting and not for the faint-hearted. We were transported by SAT to a wooden eatery whereby you could participate in food and beverages which were perfectly adequate. By 23.30, we were back in resort (which was determined by time of sunset). The minor reason we didn't give it 5 circles is that it became a little confusing when we were combined with another group at the 4x4 transfer, and as there were several on the mountain at the same time you could easily become confused as to which vehicle the rest of the SAT party was on. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our etna experience. Thanks to Franco, who was attentive and entertaining.

Avoid. Bad tourist trap tour. - Sunset etna tour - bad tour. The tour at the mountain run by a local guide is fine (but not connected to SAT). On the way they force a stop at a local waste of time tourist trap shop, and then after the mountain take you to a tourist trap restaurant whether you want to go or not and costs extra. This means the tour ends very late, unnecessarily late, at past midnight.
